@maybekatie thanks for the lesson. You mentioned you are in Canada, which means you probably have a Dollarama nearby (love that store!). In the isle with pens, notebooks, etc...close to the poster boards, you can get folding display cardboards. -Grab 2 and laminate together for strength. -Cover with light, pretty but plain material (a busy pattern would be distracting). -Use narrow ribbon, like a centimeter wide and brass tacks. (You can get tacks that have a flat head and 2 tabs to spread apart. You probably used them in elementary school for crafts.) -Start on the top, back with glue and wrap over the edge on an angle then finish behind on the bottom. Repeat this every few inches. Maintain the same angle going from the top to bottom. -Do the same thing from the opposite corner. You should now have angled ribbons overlapping in a diamond pattern. -Use a sharp pointer in each criss-cross area to make a hole through both layers of ribbon, the fabric and both layers of cardboard. -Push the pins through and spread the tabs open and flush against the back. This will secure the ribbon. -cover the back with more material to hide the ends of the ribbon and tacks. An alternative is, instead of laminating the 2 boards right away, make both of them the same and then laminate them together back to back for a double sided display. -You want the ribbon to sit flat but not tight. You can now slip the corners of cards, etc under the ribbon. You can also use colored elastic

I have a tip for you. I saw a KZbin of a gal that was doing a similar recording. Is you sharing these wonderful ideas but she said those Uline racks are three times as expensive as a dog crate and I think she got a large dog crate and it’s alreadyconnected you just fold it flat for storage but check it out

Thank you very much for making this video. Really liked your table set up and stacking solutions: simple, uncluttered and effective (really liked also how you solved the cards issue: display unwrapped cards and put a basket with wrapped cards right next to it, ready to be given to the customer). In regards to the profits, I want to do these craft fairs in the future and decided to treat them as brand promotion events. You might get lower (or no) profits on the day, but you also might get some returning customers to your online shop out of those fairs.

This is such a helpful video, thanks! Having my first stand in November with linocut printed cards, wooden pins and magnets and such things. Thank you so much for this video! I also have the idea of making some sort of "lottery", so where people can draw out for only 2,- or something and get a small thing - like a bookmark or something. Just an idea I need to see if it makes sense for the items I sell. I have seen this on some markets and it is always fun to draw something where you don't know what you get and the relatively low prize makes more people attend your stand where they maybe would not have bought something otherwise.

Such a great video ❤ Do you have any tips on how to secure things down at an outdoor market on a windy day?
@maybekatieАй бұрын
I'm so sorry for my late reply on this, this comment slipped past me somehow! wind is so tricky with paper goods, I would say one of the best things you can do (if it's an option) is have a walled tent that's weighed down with sandbags or something of the like so that minimal wind is coming at you 😅 otherwise just wrapping anything you can in some kind of packaging to keep it safe in case it does blow away 🥺

What 😂 I think maybe it’s a characteristic of her Canadian “accent” cause I’m Canadian too and it sounds normal
@habersmashery3 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s just a cadence thing. In UK English and parts of the US we tend to pitch down at the end of a sentence. The exception is asking questions, when our pitch goes up. So naturally a regional cadence that goes up at the end for a non-question sounds unusual to us. Neither way is correct, it’s just different speaking styles.
