This one was "CLASSROOM" quality on presentation and belongs in a "Tech Ed" class. Seen you do these many times but this one was classic and quick prep for the 'floating floor'! Great job, BOSS! Sonny

Those panels are great to work with. One of the companies that I worked for bought a welded wire mesh operation in the early ‘80s. The owner wouldn’t sell his trademarks or brand names. So, in effect they bought a business with no customers. Luckily, they found a new home center business that was needing wire mesh for concrete. They wanted it in rolls. It took very little time to fabricate a few rolling machines. That plant operated for well over 20 years just making those rolls for a big orange box store. But, my point, it’s a pain in the tail to use grid from a roll. You have to roll it out then flip every strip. Otherwise you’ll be doing nothing but fighting the cast (technical name for curl within a roll of wire). I got several rolls that were sent to our testing center. Boy was I glad to give the last one away so I didn’t have to fight it myself anymore. I have used flat panels every since!!! You did a nice job detailing and illustrating the prep work. Thanks Boss! PS- I’m working on a video of a repair job on a bed I made 15 yrs ago. Hope to post it this weekend.

Yeah them rolls and wire are deadly if you don't trust the guy on the other end when you go to flip it don't do it ! I've had many times where I had to duck tuck and roll.. 😂

You are an excellent teacher! Very thorough. Did someone show you how to do all these different types of projects? Or is some of it self-taught? Maybe a little of both!You can fix just about anything and build/construct all sorts of things the right way.

@Dirt boss, You should put the formwork on the inside of the garage door opening. That way when the garage door is closed it will cover the seam/transition from the garage slab to the driveway!
@DIRT-BOSS
@DIRT-BOSS 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not The floor has to sit on the foundation then we taper from the garage door out stay tuned

@@DIRT-BOSS I pour my garage slabs to the inside because most of my homes driveways are sand finish and stamped concrete. Would look really bad in my specific case. Rebar is stubbed out of the 2x4 formwork and we stub our bar into the footing on the inside as well. Thanks for the response, your the man!

How thick was this pour? Getting ready to pour a 14x14 root cellar base. I'm pouring right on top of sandstone, so not much tamping going on. It's been raining like crazy, and this sandstone wicks it away faster than it can rain.

Hi Mike! Just a simple question....Why do you pitch the garage floor towards the automatic gateways???
@DIRT-BOSS
@DIRT-BOSS 3 жыл бұрын
We pitched the garage floor because we're in the Northeast and the snow melt on the cars it drips and then it goes out the door..
