Thank you so much for explaining the importance of balance lines. This will be so much easier than trying to read the wrinkles

Game changer for this newbie. Why is this not taught. Preparing my pattern is super important in the same league as pressing as you go. Haven't even watched the 2nd video yet. Thank you so very much. Your videos are clean, focused and to the point. No annoying distracting conversations, music and methodical I.e step 1, step 2 etc. Excellent ref materials.

thank you so so much for this!!! i had a lovely 'simple/easy/fast' knit top pattern and have so many fit issues with it i'm trying to learn how to fix: a back that's narrower than the front, rounded at the top and swayed at the bottom, a narrow upper chest, but full bust... I started sewing at christmas and honestly just thought all this saggin' n' baggin' I've had my entire life from store bought clothes was just something I had to live with. Now i'm 25% horrified by the realisation i'm built like a gargoyle, 25% panicked over the amount of maths involved 25% ecstatic that I CAN actually fix things and make clothes that fit me properly and 25% having my brain melting and seeping out of my ears as I discover just how much there is to learn about sewing. Who knew learning to sew would be such an emotional rollercoaster. Oof. Thank you for making this avalanche of information so clear and accessible at a level I can understand

This is great! Now that I have experienced how necessary balance lines are, this is so helpful to be able to find them on commercial patterns!

Thank you for your clear, concise teaching. I look forward to the rest of the series! Going to reread my fit guide today. I got it when I first started garment sewing last spring but I’ve learned so much now just by sewing things up that I think it will make more sense to me now.

I can’t wait for COVID to be gone so I can take a class with you in person. In the mean time I have the pattern you are using and will follow along. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I have the same pattern! I'm going to pulling it out and following along.

I loved the instructions on this garment. I went through the fitting class last year, but never finished my muslin. Would love to take a class in person with you.

Thank you. That makes sense. Do you then transfer these markings to your garment to ensure they are level on the body and adjust accordingly?
