I do love dried figs dates apricots & prunes. ALL are overwhelmingly delicio9us & versatile. I love your baked figs, simple sweet elegant. I will try this. Also I will get me some queen olives & do the olives with the figs for a salty sweet savoury version.

Growing up we had a fig tree along with many others in our neighborhood. In winter they would get wrapped up with tarpaper or linoleum and a galvanized bucket put upside down over top. Brings back memories. Going to try this recipe with the dried figs.

Mine are in the oven as I’m watching your way of cooking them. Yours are like the way I make mine except that I cut off the very hard tip so that my company doesn’t have to worry about discarding the tip. I cut at the part that I cut off the tip straight through without going right through. The walnuts go in and I give a gentle mushing together. I cook mine at 325 for about 10 minutes. They are still delicious even if they get a bit over cooked.

Hi Evo, so glad to be back. KZbin is harder to get into now. Well this lesson was so timely. I have been trying to get my dry cooking things back under control after a long illness. Guess what I found!! Two big bags of dried figs from Costco!!! Now I know what to do with them, and I love walnuts too. Soaking these older figs, and then making the walnuts sandwich should work. Right?

Welcome back and yes, they will work out just fine👍👍

How do you store them and how long will they last?
@CookingwiththeCoias14 сағат бұрын
The no-bake will keep in the fridge for a week and the baked version can be kept in the fridge as well, in a sealed plastic bag, for a week (if you vacuum seal them, they will keep longer)

Hi there, where would I find dried figs in New Hampshire?
@CookingwiththeCoias9 ай бұрын
I get them at my local grocery store but if your store doesn't carry them, try an Italian Deli 👍👍👍

I love how you pull the figs out and they're a bit overdone and you're just like "oh well everyone's oven is different" instead of cutting the video and throwing another set in and pulling them out and pretending they came out perfect the first time. It lets folks know that even if you don't do it perfectly, it can still come out nicely!

you don't have your own fig tree??? what kind of Italian are you??? 😂🤣😂🤣 or are you just in the wrong zone for growing them??
@CookingwiththeCoias9 ай бұрын
....LOL....Of course I have my own fig tree - actually trees, because I have 2 🙂 They are in extra large containers on wheels, so I wheel them out of the garage in the spring and wheel them back in by winter🙂
