Thank you so much for a very clear and thorough presentation of everything involved in this surgery. My operation was 2 weeks ago at Guys hospital, London. 5 hours starting with RATS but shifted to Thorocotomy due to complications. The recovery is much slower than I’d hoped for, even though that was expected and explained here. Watching this now as before the surgery is a very helpful resource and reassurance. You cover just about everything here. Thanks again.

How are you all doing? i had my lower left lobe removed on May 1st 2018 and i am still in pain and having a hard time catching a deep breath.

Angela Spinelle How are you doing now in September? Did you have cancer stage I? I'm having surgery this Monday, Sept 10. Pet Scan was uptake 15 for almost 5cm mass, although the biopsy only showed "dead cells". Dr is talking about removing the left upper lobe, but during surgery they will examine the mass to confirm the cancer. I'm trusting the Lord to take me thru struggles. How are you doing and how old are you?

I had a lung biopsy almost 6 months ago to only show inflammation and have been in severe chronic pain every since many hospital visits later and no answers as to why. Is this even normal?

Is it possible to die during this operation
@sorccer96814 жыл бұрын
There are different operations that can be done in that area, before my surgery the doctors told my father its 50/50, but i didnt know that and i went in with 200% chance For success and here i am 5 months later, recovery is tough but we gotta keep fighting, the more information you know the more stressed you Will be, sometimes its better to take it easy.

Dying is a risk with ANY surgery . . .

We are at risk of dying every day of our lives. Surgery is somewhat riskier than other activities but almost everybody gets through it just fine.

@@shty2311 the surgery went good and I came home Saturday, but I am struggling with the pain. I am 63 and just setting up in bed is really hard. They believe they removed all the cancer so the pain is something I just have to deal with. My surgeon told me this would be a slow recovery and he wasn't exaggerating.
@shty23115 жыл бұрын
Im so glad it came out good and pain :/ I hope you start feeling less pain and you recover soon!!!!, And im 24 I should be getting my upper right lobe to completely remove my cancer but I'ma scared on how much of a difference I will feel( even tho the tumor is covering my lobe) do you feel shorter of breath or how does it feel for u ? And did the doctor say you will eventually get used to it ?
