I am really grateful to have found your channel. Thank you for your warm personality and all the information you share about your journey through OT school. I have had a deep interest in this field for many years but was often discouraged due to my undergrad performance. I've recently been in contact with an advisor from a school in my area who has given me an encouraging plan to possibly have a shot at becoming an OT. Although this is a desire of my heart I'm so unsure if this is God's will for me and what the future of this profession will be in light of what's going on in the world. I say all this to say thank you and to ask your opinion on what you think the trajectory of the profession will be during and after covid? I'm sure there have been lots of changes in procedures and policies within practice. Could you possibly share some of your thoughts on that? It would be so appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your comment! I completely understand you concerns but let me assure you that OT is here to stay :) There are so many different areas and spaces that OTs can occupy. It's a flexible profession and easily adaptable. Statistics show that there will be around a 30% increase in jobs within the next 10 years especially as baby boomers age. There will also be a lot of need within the area of mental health due to affects of the pandemic! OTs have one of the lowest and consistent unemployment rates. It really is an awesome career so don't be afraid to follow your dreams :)
