How To Prepare My Favorite Ingot Mold To Pour Gold or Silver -To be able to reuse your scrap gold or silver effectively, you need to be able to pour your own precious metal ingots. Lots of ingot molds are too big for a one person studio with one torch, so I will show you my favorite that I have been using for years. I will also go over the different ways of treating the mold so that your gold or silver ingots don't stick. I will show you how to prepare an ingot mold with a candle. If you have Acetylene as a fuel gas for you solder torch you can use that to blacken the mould

Thanks for the demo. I'm wondering if you can get the same soot covering if using acetylene? Meaning light the acetylene torch but not the oxygen and would soot come out and could you cover the new mold? Thanks.
