Rego Park is almost exactly the same distance to midtown as it is from Bushwick to midtown. Quieter and less nightlife, but safer and it's not a gentrified neighborhood.

I want to move to NYC after I get out of the Army. I'm currently stationed in Fort Drum, Upstate NY, basically Canada. Can someone give me advice?

Im leaving oregon on monday to new york. Ive watched acouple videos of yours and happy with some info you have but havent seen anything about homeless shelters. Im not coming completely broke but ill have close to $850 to start, reccomend something other than shelters till i get a job? ( i have classic french cuisine experience with diner speed) im either going to fall and keep trying or succeed no quitting available.

I’d be interested in a life update because shelters in nyc are terrible.

I wish I could move with just a backpack and suitcase but sadly my job runs off a sewing machine and supplies
@ChelseaCallahan3 жыл бұрын
I totally get that, I could only speak to my experience! I'm sure there is a more permanent living situation out there so you don't have to move all the time. Good luck in your move, and thanks for watching! x

How did you get robbed? They broke in your room or robbed in person? Because I have an expensive ass laptop too and I’m wondering would it be safer to leave it home everyday or carry it with me everywhere I go with the potential of getting mugged in person
@ChelseaCallahan3 жыл бұрын
Someone broke in my apartment from the inside! Definitely better to leave your laptop at home in my opinion, but maybe hide in a drawer or invest in a safe or something 🙂
@donetho42503 жыл бұрын
@@ChelseaCallahan for sure thank you! And I hope all is well with you now 🙏 I was also listening to you talk about how you rented sublets to avoid all the requirements/docs that are required for regular spaces but the sublets I'm seeing on Craiglist are all asking for the same thing (credit, broker fee, first and last month etc) ? Do you know of any good places I should look, cause this aint it 😩
@ChelseaCallahan3 жыл бұрын
@@donetho4250 Yes there are a lot of good facebook groups that I use!! Our friend Craigslist can be a hot mess sometimes haha. All the sublets I've done require some sort of deposit but it's always refundable. Check out 7:33 in this video I list out the groups and talk about my tips for securing one 🙂I hope this helps!! good luck! x

if you have '40x the rent' income and can prove proof of funds but are an international student with no credit history and obviously no Guarantor.. what are the chances of finding a place by yourself. thinking of moving out of London to NYC. any help from anyone would be appreciated. one love x
@ChelseaCallahan3 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say! Every building requirements are different but I think you definitely have a good chance of that being enough

@markwalter48812 жыл бұрын
What is meant by "40X the rent?" Does that mean if the apartment is $2000 you have to have $80K in savings? That does n't sound right!
