I've got that alarm. It's a really great idea to have one! However, I would say it would be better to have put it somewhere a bit more inconspicuous and hard to get to. Thieves can just knock that alarm off with a hammer.

Pretty nice but for the same price you can buy a disc alarm that has the same bump alarm features activated by locking it on the disc with the key moving a steel locking pin through the disc(i own one problem free for years now), it 100% stops the bike from being ridden off plus the alarm can't be quickly cut off like zip ties can be easily cut off this frame ararm, plus it can be used across any bike you take out for the day, i even take it camping for my jetski trailer locking it through the cable on the winch for anyone tampering with it hopefully scares them off (it's very loud high pitched like this one and can easily be heard from 50mt away no problems at all). I highly recommend buying one of these first for the same price for added security and more value for money.

I have the type you are talking about, mine is actually marketed as a motorcycle alarm but it works fine on an ebike. It’s incredibly loud and prevents the wheel from turning. I also have a sticker on the crossbar that states the bike is equipped with a gps tracker. I think that no system is thief proof but if you can make your property harder to steal than everyone else’s property then that’s half the battle.

During Covid a young Electrician in the North of England was so sick of his van being broken into, he wired the doorhandles up to a home made deterrent unit that gave future thieves a non lethal shock. It worked and the Police turned a blind eye. Good on him x100

I’m starting to deliver for Uber eats on a E-Bike so I just ordered this! It will be a must have, it takes to much time to find a spot where I can lock my bike with the extra lock for a quick delivery. Ps I live in the Netherlands, going to deliver in The Hague. So it’s not like I’m delivering in The hood or something 😂

You can change the sensitivity of the alarm. However, there is no need to have the alarm on whilst you are riding. Just turn it on when you have locked up your bike :)

I have a spare battery yes! For a whole day shift I would need 2 batteries total. It also depends on your electric bike but I think 2 is enough for most. My dad has an electric bike shop ;)

Hey bro! It's doable on a regular bike but it will be more difficult! Your fitness is basically dictating how much you can make haha. Electric bike is best :) My dad has an electric bike shop bro! That's a good measure to add. However, there is a flaw in the way you've secured it. You've only secured the alarm device with zip ties. Bike thieves are starting to get aware of this. So one keep the device hidden as well as possible and two secure it with a much stronger mount than just zip ties. Bike thieves that know what they are doing can snap the zip ties and remove the device.

How long you intend to leave your bike alone? I don’t take more than 10 minutes waiting to pick up food and mine are kept at my flat at night. Of course you won’t use just an alarm but alarm plus Dutch lock or regular chain.

@@Heyyou00002 if you are at a restaurant you might be there for some time but regardless of time I have seen bike stealers in broad daylight in NYC with hundreds of people on the sidewalk come with the “main key” (read big bolt cutter) break HD locks within seconds only to see the owner run out helplessly trying to stop the guy who just took off….

Yea but if that alarm is just tie up with zip ties you can cuts those easily with a knife or cutting pliers. There goes your alarm Now they can work comfortably on cutting your chain That alarm is a great idea but is to easy to remove cause is just 2 zip ties holding it down Also they can throw a lot of water and the alarm won’t work Those are my thoughts

The alarm would still make a lot of noise alerting people nearby. It might be enough to put them off cutting the chain. Also it takes a while to cut my chain...not enough time by the time I've collected my order. That alarm will have maybe saved me some time before they are able to cut the chain.

Soooooo, a cable tie and sticky back plastic keeps your bike alarmed. Scissors! Then just pull it off and launch it. Chain: Perhaps all of a second with bolt cutters or if an angle grinder faster than that. You may as well lock your bike up with a piece of string. Spend the money and buy a Hiplock D1000. I did!

The alarm would be so loud that it would quickly get the attention of people around (including myself). So it would be difficult for them to cut the chain because it's one thing cutting it but cutting it whilst people are watching! I just use it as a deterrent and for like £10 it's worth having it then not having it 👍🏽

Would never work in America. Thieves walk out of Walmart carrying big screen TVs in broad daylight. TVs they didn't pay for. They would just throw the bike in their vehicle and drive off, then remove the alarm later.

Lol, so many people missed the point. Also, it doesn't help you strapped it right to the frame. You're supposed to hide it, lol. I actually have a metal box mine goes in that is security screwed to the extra water bottle holder. It has 1 purpose. To shock most theifs into not wanting to try and cut the lock. It's supposed to be hidden. Then, when they touch the bike and it goes off, they are like crap and panic and just run. Any dude who would brazenly walk up to your bike with bolt cutters in broad daylight isn't deterred by anything, so you can't really do anything about those guys but maybe use more than 1 lock. If I'm going away from my bike for more than 10 minutes, I use a u-lock and a kryptonite chain. I also live in Arizona, so you know I carry a firearm. Not that I'm going to shoot someone over a bike but I think most theifs know it's a possibility and don't bother with harder targets...especially ones that sound a big get over here with your gun warning sound.

The alarm is more of a deterrent. I’ve seen people suspiciously check my bike out from a distance and they realise that the bike isn’t easy to steal. They see the lock and realise it would be hard to cut. They might see the alarm and realise that it will make a very loud noise by the time they’ve cut the zips and chucked it away. By that point people around will be aware of them trying to steal the bike. Don’t forget that I’m only ever away from my bike for max 10 minutes, usually just a couple of minutes so it’s not enough time for them to cut the lock. Adding the alarm reduces that window of opportunity for the thieves

I made this video ages ago but I'm pretty sure I said that you still need to lock up the bike with a decent lock that is hard to cut. The alarm is more of a deterrent...worth having because it's just an additional nuisance for the thief and isn't expensive at all. You probably didn't watch the whole video...but that's ok.

don't show thieves where the zip ties that hold the alarm on your bike.. Any good thief has something to cut the zip tie and drop it in a glass of water which kills the alarm by drowning it. That should be zip tied under the seat (out of sight) so the thief cannot remove it and throw it far away from the bike they are stealing.. Actually you make it worse, because if they can snip the zip ties, then toss it om a nearby garbage can, you have given them a diversion while they take your bike.

I still make sure to lock up my bike. I sometimes just turn it on when I feel like I'm in a dodgy area or there are dodgy people about. The aim is just to scare people off, the warning sound is pretty loud. For like £12 it's worth it in my opinion. I wouldn't make a video about it if I thought it was useless haha. It hasn’t gone off once. So it’s not really a nuisance. It will only be a nuisance if someone is stealing my bike! I’m sure thieves are more of a nuisance to society than an alarm on a bike!
