I watched your video and found it extremely educational. My problem is, I had a stylist put in a sew-in hair weeve. Now please know I'm not rich and this person knew it, as I went to her years before for flat iron styles. She did nothing less than a horrible job and chared 500 plus dollars. I paid just at a glance and being tiered headed home. It was for my birthday but when I got home I was horrified. Now she refuses to talk to me after saying she would give me 100 back. There is a more but I'd like to see if you respond. Just wanting advice...... thank you so much. Diva Jonae Berry

This was super informative, thank you! I have thought about possibly adding extensions to my menu, but chickened out because I had no clue where to start. Where did you get your training for it? And could you please do a video about the different types of extensions and why you would choose that technique over another? Much appreciated!

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I've done some of my training from going to classes, videos, but really the best class is practicing techniques and finding what works best for you. I will be teaching a class in May. Sign up for my email list to be notified when class schedule is open.

Kera links can be reused 1-3 times depending on the quality of extensions & depending on how they are being taken care of, however the price is mainly on the service & expertise, the reason ppl go into solons to get it done is because it's not just extensions being installed it's also blending, hair coloring, also their product knowledge for that individual service & time as well, plus securing a spot someone else would of reserved. Hair extensions are a luxury especially when going into a solon or any beauty establishment even if it's not a hair solon. I've noticed a lot of people who go into businesses that don't see the value are people that can't even do it themselves to begin with. There's a price for everyone & what they can afford & a good solon usually cost more compared to someone that doesn't know what they are doing. No shade to anyone because everything is a learning experience especially if u don't know. Just sharing that's all.🙂

Great video! Great information confirmed I’m not too expensive. Question. When u do the move up appointments,do u only replace bead and not the thread? If that is correct do you ever recommend removing it all and reinstalling higher or lower to avoid tension in same area or give that area a rest?

If the install is in great condition, I will move up the bead/replace once. Then the next install I remove completely and reinstall.

@MirellaManelli2 жыл бұрын
I do $175 no matter if I add 1 or 3 wefts to one row. Generally clients want me to color them, so that's where the price would vary. I don't use hand tied but hybrid wefts from Donna Bella. That way they are thin but you can cut them.

Yeah no, thank you! And my aunt is a hairstylist and owns her salon and would agree that she would never set foot in your salon! First is your prices are absolutely ridiculous, secondly your not even using the highest quality extensions and lastly, you commented on raising prices and losing clients like oh that's okay! You sound like your after nothing but money! Hair is an art and a passion, not a profession to just make money and regard clients like they are money bags! Very disappointing as a professional...
@MirellaManelli2 жыл бұрын
Yeah no… this video is not for you. I run a million dollar salon with a successful team of 12 who know how to run a business. I’m pretty sure your aunt would be begging me to help her with her business with the wealth of knowledge I have. My team does hair not only because they love it, but because they know how to make a living. We work because of money. If clients don’t see the value in what we do, it’s ok to not take them as a client. We screen clients before we take them to be sure we’re a good fit for each other. In regards to your comment about hair is an art and passion and not about making money: this is the reason women in this industry are not valued and being a hairstylist is a devalued profession. I’m here to change that and I make these videos for those who aspire to make a successful living. Not just live paycheck to paycheck. It’s disappointing to still see people comment this ESPECIALLY coming from a woman. Maybe what you should do is continue to get your hair done with your aunt, make her do it for free because you think she owes you her time, and stay off business advice hair videos since you’re not a hairstylist and haven’t taken a business class. I hope you find happiness and peace in your life 💙
@renehill33512 жыл бұрын
Nicole..what happened to you that made you such a bitch..? You are a nasty young woman and I suggest you seek help exponentially. Your comment is ridiculous only not only shows your overall immaturity in life but also just how unhappy you must be. For your sake I really hope you get help. Hair is an art and a passion and when you decide to do it for a living its also A JOB. You have a lot of growing up to do. Get help now why'll your still young...from your comment it seems like you have quite a bit of work to do. Save the money you should be spending on your hair that your aunt probably does for free and use that to find a therapist that is qualified to help you work through whatever issues is causing you to be so unhappy. You really seem miserable.

I'm holding my head in my hand. Did you really say it's not a profession to just make money? I'd love to see a link to your aunt's salon and social media. My bills alone for salon mortgage, utilities, building insurance, business insurance, workman's comp, UI insurance, employees pay, retail, back bar, supplies, tools, building upkeep, self employment taxes, payroll, accountant, continuing education classes annually, and much much more. I'm sure as a grown adult professional you already know a mortgage or rent is easily anywhere from $1800 to $5,000 a month depending on how classy a place you want. (Not your home MTG that you still have to pay too) That's just that. Add in the thousands on all the other items. Oh, and btw, as an owner you don't get health insurance or retirement plan. You have to pay for that yourself!! Unless they are being trashy by not claiming money and getting state health. Average here is $1200/mo just for 1 person health ins. never mind a family plan. Oh wait, safety paying for all of that... You still haven't paid yourself!!!! Now add that. Expensive for you, isn't expensive for someone who wants it all; ambiance, skills, great product, assurance and to be treated like class. We have a certain clientele who also make good money and understand the cost of business. People without a successful one wouldn't understand. I'll be waiting for those links ;)

Omg is this women serious. We work to make money to pay our bills. It is a career just like any other that is done to support our family.
