A huge thank you for sharing your process. Like others, you have inspired me and helped me get started with designing my own deck. I have tinkered with the idea of how to create my own cards now for years. Fear has been my biggest obstacle, along with the cost. I've had to reinvent myself in the past few years, including going through a career change, relocating, losing a child, and going through drastic life changes. Your passion, creativity, and practical steps in how to do this encouraged me to start my card project today with confidence. You are a guiding light to us.

Aww that's the sweetest compliment, Rose. Thank you and I'm happy to inspire your deck creation journey. In terms of cost, you shouldn't have to put out that much...there are plenty of print-on-demand companies so you don't have to purchase all the decks and then sell them. You can also do a pre-order so you only purchase what is already sold. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve looked into many different printing companies. I feel like there’s a potential for an easier way for spiritual teachers and creatives to get their decks out in the world. Although it could be time consuming it feels better than the companies I’ve looked into. I don’t see a link to the printer you use? Can you post that please?

Thanks for watching! I use a deskjet 3500 series to print my cards at home. Just a basic inkjet printer. It's not the printer that creates the quality, it's the paper and the printing process. For better quality, print slower using photo setting and use Neenah Bright White cardstock.

I just made my own, having a dozen sets printed for Christmas gifts. It was a word only one but with fancy writing & I printed them out as 2" x 2" plastic cards. I will put them in a tiny tin. :) I'm working on my next deck and have started a combined Tarot/Oracle deck too. LOVE your ideas and your decks are all great. I need to find the box pattern, really upgrades the deck. Thanks for sharing all your ideas & techniques, really helpful hints & tools. Sending you Love, Peace & Harmony from Arizona.

I would love to sit and look through all these beautiful decks you've made. They look awesome! I've made a few oracles already (I took the construction paper, glue, glitter, stickers, and old magazine route!) But I'm inspired to try some of these techniques you've mentioned. Your work is lovely👌 thanks for sharing

I love this video and your others. It's so helpful to get some hints and tricks on how to make your own oracles. I was wondering if you mind sharing the model numbers or links of the Scotch Laminator and HP DeskJet printer you own and use? Or, if you recommend other ones? Thanks in advance so much!
@OverTheMoonAcademy Жыл бұрын
Thank you! You can use any HP Deskjet really. It's not the printer that makes the colors pop. It's the Neenah Bright White cardstock. Scotch changed their lamination so I now use Apache Laminating Pouches from Amazon.

I have double sided cards. Pics on one side and words on the other! This video has been great! Should you have to laminate if you have a matte linen 350gsm card stock?
@OverTheMoonAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the video. You don't have to laminate at all. I do it to add to the card's thickness, durability and shuffle-ability. Test it both ways with a few cards and see which you like better.

Would you please consider making a video about how to print double-sided and whatever application I’m not very tech oriented and I would really like to be able to do this please
@OverTheMoonAcademy8 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting but there's no way around the technology. To print double-sided, you have to know your printer and the applications you wish to use in order to create that type of deck. You can always use a print-on-demand service and have them do it for you.
@stephaniekendra76198 ай бұрын
Okay well thanks anyway. I watched your video a few times and saw the part where you had printed out words. I used canva as you suggested which was really helpful just not sure how it will print double sided from the template itself. thanks

Hello there I am attempting to print my first deck however I'm finding it difficult coming from canva to get the correct size and dimensions. It wants to print each card on a whole page and then the card is giant. If you have any advice it would be most appreciated. Thank you kindly.

What apps or software do you suggest for graphic arts? Can you use stock photos if you intend to sell?
@OverTheMoonAcademy11 ай бұрын
I would recommend working in Canva since it has so many graphic tools and the platform is pretty user-friendly. But use whatever software/apps you know. You can use royalty-free images/stock photos for commercial use...just read the terms of use to be sure of the usage guidelines.

Thank you for sharing! So cool! I have a question about Printer Studio…Do you know where they print and ship from? How long does it take you to get your cards from the time you submit them? Are you happy with them? Thanks!!
@OverTheMoonAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Printerstudio is based in China, I believe. It takes roughly 2 weeks for me to receive my orders (I'm usually only ordering one - three decks at a time). I'm happy with the products I receive from them. However, if you're asking questions about being a deck publisher, I'm not one. If you want to publish your own deck, I suggest looking into a variety of printers and doing some research to see what will best suit your needs.

About much did it cost you to do it on your own
@OverTheMoonAcademy2 жыл бұрын
It costs me less than $10 and roughly two hours of time to make a 40 - 50 card deck I would say. But that's because I already have all the supplies and buy cardstock in packs of 200.
