Hi John, I don’t know how to turn off the power recovery mode and I think that’s leaving bumps in my prints, can you help? Thanks!
@jfmedina20103 ай бұрын
I haven't had that problem - so full transparency, I haven't tried doing this to turn it off. However, you should be able to go into Cura and go to settings > printer > manage printer > select your printer (most likely just called Longer LK5 Pro) > Machine Settings. Then, in the box under "Start G Code", add a line below "; LONGER Start G-code" and put in M413 S0, That *should* disable it. You'll need to re-slice the file in question with that new setting before you try to print again. Hopefully that helps!

Hey John I just stumbled across your channel, great help I cannot thank you enough. I do have a few questions and I would love to hear your feedback. I upgraded to a 6mm nozzle for faster prints, since then I do have some stringing issues, would you be so kind to post your profile? I toyed with the retraction on my end, and I was not able to fully eliminate the issue. I would not switch back to 4mm, the speed is more than worth the hassle. I just want to ask if you had similar issues, and if you did any changes or upgrades to the printer.
@jfmedina2010 Жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful! I have not used a 0.6mm nozzle - so I don't have a profile for that. My main profile that I use is: 0.2mm layer height 0.4mm walls 20% cubic infill 50mm/s print speed 25mm/s wall speed 5.0 mm retraction 45mm/s retraction speed skirt for build plate adhesion The temperature I use depends on the material that I'm using to print. Since I haven't used a 0.6mm nozzle before, I can't speak as an expert, but there are a few things you can try to reduce stringing (if you haven't already). You mentioned that you've fiddled with retraction - did you try increasing the distance or the speed? The faster you retract the less likely stringing is to occur. Because your nozzle is larger, retracting faster might help. You could also look at increasing the retraction distance by 1mm intervals and see if there is any improvement. Another thing to consider is your print temperature. I'd recommend doing a temp tower to see if the nozzle size will change your optimal print temperature. The Cura marketplace has a temp tower that you can use that will handle a lot of the gcode modification for you instead of you manually having to find the layers to change the temp at. Lastly, if you live in a humid climate - with the warmer weather, there might be increased humidity. If your filament is building up moisture, it can also cause stringing. Hopefully this helps!

@@jfmedina2010 thank you very much. I did a number of tests and prints for that. My profile is very similar the main change is I print at 215C and my walls are 0.6mm I did dry my filament. In this case I used retraction starting from 3mm up to 12 with no avail. Also the speed was done from 0.25 to 70 with no avail. The best I could do is whips ...I will carry on testing thank you very much for the help! You are the best

Does the motor still work? Is it spinning the brass wheel?
@MichellePlaza-mq9bx3 ай бұрын
@@jfmedina2010 Yes the motor is good, and the spinning brass move and feed the filament but don't feed anymore when i put them to print. Start to print but after few minutes the brass wheel go backward, like pulling back and don't print anything, I change everything, today, I change the nozzle kit and nothing.
@jfmedina20103 ай бұрын
@@MichellePlaza-mq9bx did you happen to change out the bowden tube? If the brass wheel is making a clicking noise after you start printing it most likely means you have a clog. If you replaced the nozzle and that didn't fix it, then your bowden tube might be expanding when it gets hot and causing a clog within the tube.

That resource file that you copy/paste has the Longer printer profile in it. If you copy that over it should show up in Cura.

Hello - what size do you expect most pieces to be? The size of print beds are going to be your biggest factor. But if pieces are too large, you can always print them in halves and glue them up after.
@BrooksMcDaniel-n8e5 ай бұрын
@@jfmedina2010 yes, most likely no more than 11.5 x 12.00 thanks for your input on the type of printer. Most prints will be houses and buildings.

0:56 right here, I point at a little metal piece next to the gantry. On the filament guide, there is a slot that fits over that little metal piece.
@NewBluePhotography11 ай бұрын
@@jfmedina2010 Thanks for getting back to me! So there is no metal piece to slide it onto on the other side of the metal plate. There is a black bolt but the guide doesn't fit well onto it and kinda dangles. I could glue it on but that doesn't seem right. Next problem... When I feed the filament through, it stops at the gold gear. At 1.45 of your video, you mention squeezing the spring to get the filament through...the filament wants to round past the hole so I used a clamp to hold the spring open and a pin to guide the filament into the hole. Design flaw?? So The end of the filament is in the hole and I heated up the filament to 200 and the bed to 60. Chose a file to print and it goes through the motions but no filamant is coming out. hmmm.

Be advised that if you have purchase and receive a defective unit Longer has no customer support. I called and emailed after purchasing one of their units do to it having issues and not feeding any filament and PLA, TPU, PTGE and they will not respond. Furthermore they blocked my number from calling them as now it goes directly to voicemail but when I restrict my caller ID the phone rings before being directed to voicemail. I would avoid this company all together and picking an alternative option..
