i love the printmaker! i hate the app, its so clunky to me even though i just upload my own designs!! Also there is an option to run it an infinite number of times so that you dont have to keep realigning it! its directly above the 1x option.

I didn't like the infinite option since you can't tell when it stops. I kept stopping in the middle of a print and then couldn't continue on with my pattern. So I found 5x the perfect length for me to run the machine without error :) I didn't have any trouble uploading my own images. Are you designing on a computer and bringing the designs in through the web app?

@@KarleyHall I design in Illustrator/Photoshop then I upload it to the app. I am using my iPad which is a bit older so that might be my problem! for the infinite I just tape a sheet of paper to the end of my substrate and run it until it hits the paper, most designs I do are end to end so I don't worry about where it stops.

I purchased this to use on my nature journaling watercolor sketchbook. It is a bit of a challenge to set up (mainly because I was so excited to work with it and didn't read that it needed to be fully charged before you start pairing it). Though I used a ruler to help guide the printer, I can see how the guide might be very helpful. This printer uses HP printer technology. It is wise to place a piece of paper to protect the rest of the page behind where you wish to print. When you press the button on the top of the printer to start the printing process, the printer can leave a bit of rainbow ink on the page. An easy solution, though, is to add a piece of copy paper to protect the page. To make titles large enough, you will often need to print your title in sections. That isn't a huge problem because the light is spot-on as a guide. Practice makes perfect but I'd suggest you print on a practice sheet before you print on your project to ensure you have the right font size. I purchased my printer from eBay and it was $45 with free shipping. I also purchased replacement ink from an eBay seller. You can print in various single colors or a rainbow of colors. The ink is not waterproof, though it is water-resistant. If you are using it with watercolor, print last! There are many lovely fonts but the word designs in the app can not be altered to make other titles (sadly). If there is a workaround for this, please share. I hope you enjoy your printer as much as I'm enjoying mine.

This video was so helpful. Been eyeing this device for the longest. There has been a significant price drop and note I’m actually thinking I might pick one up. Would love to see you revisit this craft and show us how to make our own designs and use them. And test the prints on other materials and other ribbon brands.

I love this!! thank you for your video! how is the print quality though? have you tested it? like is it waterproof or water resistant? and what if you slide the printer too fast? how well does it print?

It’s not waterproof or really water resistant! So you will want to keep that in mind for projects. As for too fast- you’d have to run it pretty fast for it to have any issue. There is more of an issue of going to slow and not moving in a continuous motion. That’s why I don’t use the infinite print option and stop at 5x so I have more control :)

In the app? You can’t change the canvas size, so you’ll just want to make sure your image is thinner to accommodate thinner ribbons or tapes.
