What if I procrastrinated too long and ended up in a pile of obligations that are urgent, important, and time-consuming? I usually end up procrastrinating even more because I can't decide which task to do first so I do something else (ie. something that doesn't require much effort), even if I try doing one of the necessary things just knowing that I also have OTHER necessary things to do (or that I'm not doing it fast enough) steals my attention

PLAN AHEAD and learn to STRUCTURE YOUR TIME. Also, what Jessica teaches about developing a schedule, using ONE calendar for planning and organizing your time has helped me a lot, speaking from a personal perspective. You literally JUST explained everything that drives me crazy about my husband! While also explaining why I am always crazy busy without ever actually getting things done. Neither of us were diagnosed with ADHD, but your videos describe our lives - AND give practical tips to do life better. I can't thank you enough for these videos! Oh, and then there's the reason I started watching your videos in the first place - professionally. I work with students who have ADHD. Again, you are the only resource I've found that speaks directly to people with ADHD, rather than about them. I can see the whole demeanor change in my students after they've watched your videos, more empowered, understood and not alone. Thank you.

Have you had any interaction with Gretchen Rubin's "Four Tendencies"? I have been a using this concept the last year or so to help me further understand my brain and how I process things (including what's important or urgent). I'm interested in how you would see this in conjunction to the ADHD world. I'm a rebel and coupling that with ADHD can make my life an overwhelming, emotional mess sometimes. I used to zone out in class all the time whenever I got "bored" with something. I still managed to get pretty good grades though, but I had three subjects where I got a "C" that were just NOT MY BAG and I was SO upset with myself because they significantly lowered my average grades, which were mostly "A" and some "B". I feel ya. Just ask for more time! Explain that you got distracted in class and haven't been able to grasp the concept and would like to do a good job on your work, and feel that if you have a couple more days to hand it in, you can do a good enough job that you can feel a sense of accomplishment and pride, and that's very important to you because you love the subject you just got distracted because you have ADHD. If your teacher doesn't understand, go to the principal.

BPD is quite often misdiagnosed. At least that's been my experience. =/ Perhaps you could talk to your physician/psychologist about having some ADHD "tests" done? Even though the tests aren't entirely scientific, and every ADHD Mind is Unique, it may point you in the "right direction". IF you found your way here, you're here for a reason. If you find that these videos speak to you on a profound level, and you identify with the videos and people commenting, maybe you DO have ADHD? Just my thoughts.

Could you do a video on ADHD medication please? What sort of things are available, his they work, which ones seem to work well for the majority of people, what the she effects could be and how you personally feel your life changed once you started taking them. I think many people are scared of the idea of taking medication for the rest of their lives, and outdoor are scared of the potential side effects and the possibly getting addicted of something. I know you're not a medical expert but would still like to to talk about what you do know from experience etc. Do you miraculously change from the meds? Or do they just help to cope a little better? How have they improved your life? I'm showing coming to the possible realisation that I may have ADHD and I'm just so afraid to get a diagnosed and just worried that the treatments available may not be worth bothering go find out for certain whether I have ADHD of not. Thanks for your videos!

Many people with ADD/ADHD have been helped tremendously by getting properly diagnosed and finding the right medications that work for them. Personally, I have learned enough about myself that I can get by without any "stimulants" (besides huge cups of strong coffee and tea) and it's not scary anymore once you get it done. Find what works for YOU. =)

I’m doing this with my homework right now. I’m trying to get out of the habit of only doing homework that’s about to be due and instead work on things that are really important assignments, even if they have far off deadlines, and stay on top of work that is important but doesn’t get graded, like reading my textbooks or reviewing the recorded lectures.

My problem is I've done it many times but everything I have to do is important AND urgent at the same time. I still don't know what to prioritize first. So everything is important and urgent (work, study, personal projects that are extremely important to get another job) because everything is connected to the same area of knowledge and I'm overwhelmed.

Not important, Urgent box is confusing. I would rather combine it with not important, non urgent box to make 1 box ''not important''. This leaves with 3 boxes which makes deciding where to put something much easier.

Thanks again for another wonder video!!! I love how you break this stuff down so that I can understand how it applies to my life!!! One important but not urgent thing I need to take care of is car repairs. Everyday I drive my car it reminds me of how I need to take it in. I know that if I don't do it soon it will jump to the Urgent box which means I will need a tow truck and probably miss a day of work. So I need to set aside some time on my next day off to take it in. Now the next issue I deal with is how to prioritize all the important stuff I have in my life that is not urgent!! I only have so many hours to use so....... Anyway, thanks again Jessica!!!

One of my issues is that as long as I decide a deadline for myself I don't take it seriously. But if something is urgent relating to others I take that responsibility. I am a bit too good at just letting stuff go, probably something I learn as a coping mechanism to feeling overwhelmed and confused.

ROUTINES! I find that the "mundane" tasks of doing dishes, vaccuuming, general tidying up, work better if I do them on a semi-regular basis, IE i TRY to vaccuum at least once a week and I TRY to do dishes daily so they don't pile up. Now I just need to go take that shower I've been "procrastinating" about for five days now 'cause I kinda smell... ;)

I'm in my mid-40s, never been diagnosed ADHD, but I'm 1000% convinced I would test positive. Because we feel like failed versions of normal. Learn about your ADHD and how it makes you unique and awesome, and stop comparing yourself to people you're not. Are we ever going to be great at boring paperwork or remember everyone's birthday (on time)? Probably not. Can we excel in fields that are exciting to us and be the empathic friend that's there in a crisis? Absolutely.

Yeah, I have a tip (from experience) if you can handle a blunt and honest response: STOP trying to expect people to "understand" you. You are different than 95% of the populace. STOP trying to "explain" yourself to "sheeple" or the "neurotypicals", they simply will never fully understand you and explaining yourself constantly is not only a complete waste of precious time, it's very exhausting. I feel MUCH better since I just stopped trying to explain myself to people. I can be persistent, and very intense at times, but I've learned to love those parts of myself and my true friends accept me for who I am. =)

Thank you once again! Prioritising is a night mare! When I have the needs of others that come first, I can be so on it, that I get a little taste of what normal behaviour is like and that motivates me. Other times, we're having cereal for supper. More often than I care to admit. Or my timing is way off at meal times...crunchy broccoli with fish that turns to dust when on the plate. Sigh...

Thank you for making these videos, I found out I had adhd this year and it was really hard on me, it was very unsettling to know that I was actually different than other people, and as selfish as this sounds I felt like I was the only one that struggled with this issue. One day I was on KZbin and ended up on your channel, when I watched your videos I started to become intrested, so I started researching, I am honestly addicted to learning about it. Researching about this really helped me tell my friends in a way so they can understand. Thank you sooo much! All of your videos have really changed my life. My other friends who don't have adhd still want to be able to help me and there is a group chat we have labeled "How to ADHD" where we are constantly talking about this channel. Without this channel I don't know how I could have done all of this. I am also able to concentrate on projects (obviously with my one of a kind kitchen timer.) Thanks for reading my extremely long essay! I hope this was motivation to you to keep going, because you really helped me get my adhd under control. Keep it up!! :D -Nikki
