The manual reads for flushing "Run the engine for about 20 sec at fast idle form 4000 to 5000rpm. NOTICE: Never run engine for longer then 2 minutes, drive line seal has no cooling when craft is out of water" Forget the suggested 20 sec, you definitely run it past the 2 minutes max hooking up the computer and running the diagnostics while the engine was running...

The winterization of a Yamaha is very similar.

RICHARD TIGANI thanks for taking the time to reply. My question is around antifreeze, specifically can I hang a bottle of rv antifreeze above the waverunner with a hose adapter on the bottle connected to my proper Yamaha connector and start the engine, will gravity and the engine running suck in the antifreeze into machine or do I need the pressure like water which the house delivers. ? Does my question make sense?
@richardtigani15105 жыл бұрын
Doug Lister I like using pressure to pump antifreeze through system. The Yamaha do drain very well. But I’ve had them overheat with out good wayer or coolant pressure.
@douglister42885 жыл бұрын
RICHARD TIGANI ok so I will look for a water transfer pump, any recommendations for me? If not have a great day and thanks for your responses.
@richardtigani15105 жыл бұрын
Doug Lister a was down pump from a marine application will work perfect. They have plenty of pressure. Keep in mind that rv anti freeze does not have the cooling capabilities of water so don’t run for a long time. Just until you have antifreeze coming from all ports that normally have cooling wayer flowing from. Have a great day

What we would use to keep the engine compartment dry I’m going back to 95 96 97 98 would be just a roll of paper towels. My first JetSki was a 1996 I’m sorry 1976 Kawasaki 400 then a 440 and then @ 550 I had a rental business on Cape Cod 1983 most work I’ve ever done in my life after that I never wanted to look at another one until 95 I bought a 95 750 ZXI then moved up to a 1997 GTX to me the GTX hull was the best rough water Hull ever created. I’m 63 now and in the next month I plan on purchasing Sea-Doo spark tricks installing 8600 map and go with a concord 11 - 17 and I weigh 225 so the 17 is a little redundant the norm is 11 - 16 I have to see what 1 Degree will do I road a 90 HP spark first time ever on one last year in five minutes I got the best workout I’ve gotten in 20 years and today I’m suppose to I have to wear knee braces (long story) I’m a Florida resident now but still have a summer home right on the water Mashpee Ma on Cape Cod I want to have a trixxs on the back of the car when I go back for 3 months I live in Altamonta Springs lot lake’s but I don’t see any activity and I want to break the ski in in FL would love to join a club down here....2nd to last time on a serious muscle craft I took my nephews Yamaha and almost killed my self I hit the water at 72mph lol. Purchase 1998 Bombardier; ski winterized last yr. ski starts without plugs, with plugs installed struggles start. Installed new battery. Any suggestions?. Starter need be replaced?
@nickgangone83144 жыл бұрын
you mean it turns over not start? And if it sounds like its struggling, it could be just a weak battery. Plugs out have low compression allowing the motor to turn with less restriction. With plugs in, it can have a higher restriction with the sealed engine at that time making airflow harder to escape the heads. Battery needs to be fully charge if you need more than a full crank to start a ski

Curious why the need for a compression test when no symptoms are present and you have the equipment to do cylinder balance?

Preventative. Exactly why you're curious. Because you didn't do it. Symptoms means you were too stupid to check often.

why is changing the oil at this point important If it's going to be changed again in the Spring?
@JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel7 жыл бұрын
You should change the oil at the end of the season in vehicles that sit for months so that contaminants from the engine running and convert to acid don't damage the bearings and other internals. No reason to change again when you take it out of hibernation unless you're a dealership that wants to sell more oil.
