By the way, mine is not a new key, it’s an existing one that has lost the keyless functionality. I’ve changed the battery in both keys but neither work so I’m currently using the key manually. Suzuki Swift 2007.

I manage to get in to programming mode and the car automatically locks (or unlocks?) and then nothing. I think I’m doing something wrong towards the end. 😞

After u got the car in programming mode press any of the buttons on your fob, if not working try holding one of the buttons pressed, or lock unlock together for 2 sec then just one of them, if the car is not reacting most likely your fob is not compatible

Most models will have different steps, if you can google the car service manual then you can search for the steps for keyless entry/answer back. For the Suzuki swift 2004-10 steps are; set interior light to door, get manual key and insert and remove twice, then press unlock button on key fob.
