For the ones who could not find out how to get different chords, I made in Fl Studio by just simply setting the chord and dragging it into the piano roll of a new pattern. So you need to make one pattern per chord. once you drag it there, you can notice there is a little trigger down below the chord that triggers the new chord Cheers

Here's another problem with the lite version besides playing the last chord selected as every chord in strummer. Also in strummer, when doing downstrokes and upstrokes, the down and up do not play the same chord. I don't play guitar so I don't know what chord it's switching to, but I can hear it and can see the dots on the fretboard change when they should remain the same as they do in the video. I really like the sound of the vst and think I'm going to buy the full version. The lite is just a tease to get you to buy the full version.

If the plugin doesn't produce sound, probably you haven't set the directory of the sound library. You have to do it manually by going into the settings of the plugin and set the directory where the sound is present. Hope this will help you

I am using Ample Guitar M Lite v2.3.1. The icon/button I have to Drag To Host looks like a curved left arrow - not the arrow crosshairs. I can create a pattern on a G chord and drag it to my DAW (Reaper) and it plays fine. However, if I follow that up in the timeline by dragging the same pattern but with a different chord selected - all of the previous midi that was playing the G now converts to the new chord. In other words it only plays the chord that is actively selected in the Ample plugin. I am using this on a Mac if that makes any difference. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi all. The whole prog makes a lot more sense to me now. But I find (Cakewalk by Bandlab) I put a pattern in in D onto the midi, all good. I then put the pattern in the next measure in G, but the previous measure has now changed to G. Any thoughts? I might have solved this by the time anyone replies, but jump in anyway...! Thanks.

Great video. I am really enjoying this series as I bought the Ample Guitar Martin but didn’t get round to using it yet. The programming seems a lot easier than Orange Tree Samples Library. I bought Dracus by Orange Tree Samples but I regret it. Amazing sounds but I found it clunky to use. I was interested and still am interested in Real Guitar. However I plumped for Ample Guitar Martin for the moment.

Hey, Steve, ironically I came here for a similar reason. I love Orange Tree, but the strumming construction is really giving me fits. And I find that that the strum sound in Ample Sound just seems to be more realistic, particularly the pick-scrape sound on the strums. -- Joel

Joel Morgan I totally agree with your comments. Orange Tree Samples is so awkward to program strums. Ample Guitar strummer is so much easier to use. I actually told Greg the developer of Orange Tree Samples this on Twitter, To be fair he got back to me and said they were looking at their strumming engine. However they just released a recent update with no.sign of.a overhaul. Maybe it’s coming in a future update.

Hi great video, but I have a small problem. I am a logic user, however, when I change the chord and drag it into the same midi track in the same way as you do in the video, the whole track becomes the same new chord which i inserted. I cannot have a track of multiple chords. It changes the whole track to the new chord I dragged in. Question.....I made a 2 bar phrase using Cma7 followed by another 2 bar phrase using Fma7 just to mess around. The C is assigned to 1 and the F is assigned to 6. I dragged the whole thing to the track. There are no changes in the strumming throughout. On the video, it looks like the chords change automatically. When I do it, I have to click on the number that the F is assigned to. I do have a midi keyboard. It has 2 octaves and you can change octaves but all that's at your disposal are two octaves at a time. The C plays the Cma7 but I can't change to the F by hitting any other key. What am I missing in order to get the chords to change automatically?

I don´t know if you will be able to fit it in this series, but I am a bit confused among the tab-riffer-midi alternatives for programming the guitars. A tab can be converted into riffer, and riffer into MIDI, which is not the same as converting the tab into MIDI. And so on...

Hello. Is it possible to program strumming in different time signatures? All the tutorials I watched shows the strumming grid in 4:4. What if you want to strum in 3:4? Does this vst have this feature? Thank you for your comment.

on the STRUMMING SEQ you will find a KNOB called TIME SIGNATURE - simple just turn the knob and it will toggle between all the different time signatures you want. You can do 3/4 and you can even do 3/4 Triplets. The time signatures available are - 2/4 and 3/4 and 4/4 and 6/8 and 3/4 Triplet and 4/4 Triplet

yes you can, go to the strummer mode and go under the CHORD box and you will see a TOGGLE button called CHORD MODE - and you can switch between - SELECT MODE (which is the one that you have to use the drop down menu to choose the ROOT key and scale and position ANNDD the other mode is the DETECT MODE (this is what you are looking for) in DETECT MODE you have the range between C1 to B2 to play ANY chord you want MANUALLY on the PIANO and it will SWITCH the CHORD to that mode. Now just press the C2 button which STARTS playing STRUM PATTERN 1. So your right hand just HOLDS DOWN the C1 (or C#1, D#1, F#1 = these are mapped to STRUM PATTERN SEQuences from 1 to 8 annndd with your LEFT HAND you just PLAY the CHORD you want and it will switch to whatever CHORD you are playing.

I For examble you need 4 chords. just create 4 tracks , insert the guitar the guitar vst on all 4 tracks, but different chords in all 4 tracks. and play it all at once. Just mak sure chords play seriely. Means, Chord A,first, chord B second, chord C and so on.

you dont need a midi, you can just use your mouse to paint in whatvever you want manually - you can even use your computer keyboard and switch to piano mode using your keyboard and it acts like a midi.

Got an EXTREMELY basic question (for anyone here who knows the answer). I apologize for my ignorance. So far, I've used only Kontakt-player VST instruments. Looks like Ample Sound uses its own "player". Am I able to use Kontakt player alongside Ample Sound in the same song file? So, for instance, could I use a Kontakt player-based piano and an Ample Sound guitar? Or will one somehow "lock out" the other?

Great question. Within your DAW you can open an instance of Kontakt and an instance of Ample Sound and play them at the same time as long as both tracks are armed. They will not lock each other out.

Hi Ruben, I love your vids man and helped me broaden my knowledge. I followed your method to add strumming on my Ample AGL. But when I drag the selected strum from Ample to the Logic track the temp changes to 120. My project is set to 75. So had to keep going to Tempo and adjust it back to 75. Have you come across this?

Weird issue. Is your Sync button turned on in strummer? Let me know if that makes a difference. Otherwise, it might be a logic issue.

On the first pattern, which is only 8th notes, when you change to a different chord, the plug-in (or DAW) is adding a little 16th-note pick-up to the start of the pattern, which isn't what you had told it to do in the original pattern. OKTOPAS ENGINEERING what DAW are you using? You should update to the 3.0 engine. It’s a free major update to their software. Let me know if that fixes your issue.

@@hifimidi My fault here. I thought 3.0 was an update of the 2.0 engine, like 2.3...because I had 2.4 version on my laptop computer. This feature is available from 2.5 update and above. I did some research and I found that when you update to 2.5 version, the icon of the drag button changes from an arrow to a cross (as is seen on your video, because you have 2.5.1 version installed). 3.0 is a major engine update, it changes the interface too...thanks a lot for this video, great work.

Hey, dude! Could you help me? I am doing just like you are, but the notes changes for all the measures. I chosse the D note for the box 1, the G for the box 2... I drag the chord 1 (D note) at the track, seems ok... But and I choose the box 2 (G note) and drag it at the track, the measure of the box D changes to G too. Did you figure this out? Seems it's because it's the lite version. I'm having the same problem. If I play my pattern in my daw and click on different chord numbers, it will change, but it doesn't work if I create a pattern, click on a chord number, drag and drop, then do it again selecting a different chord number, drag and drop. The two patterns will play the same chord. Driving me nuts.

@@abc456f Bro, I couldn't solve it the way I wanted, but at least I discovered a way to use it since I posted this comment and no one responded, haha! I now open several tracks, one for each chord I'm going to use, so I keep all the chords in their proper track, and that way the tone doesn't change. Did you understand? Then when rendering, if you want to do it with just the guitar, just render the selected tracks. If you don't understand, I'll try to explain it better. It works really well that way! Sorry for my poor English. Hugs!

I've been looking for a real sounding guitar vst just to do rhythm tracks. The Ample guitar really sounds good. Thanks very much for responding. It did take two installs to get it working right but now I can use the piano roll in Cakewalk to create strumming patterns. I got the Martin acoustic guitar, sounds so realistic. The pitch name in Sonar is different with other DAWs, its C3 is C1 in other DAWs, the range of chord notes is from C1 - B2, it is C3 - B4 in Sonar.

Same thing in Powertracks Pro Audio - I left an earlier comment before reading the comments in this thread, so I guess this is a common problem with many DAWS and the Ample VST. The only solution for me appears to be manually entering the midi chord key equivalent into the track.
