if the option is not on your cluster you will need a locksmith to do it. sometimes on ebay when u buy a key fob it comes with a programer

some models have the feature to program the remote in your cluster as an option but some models don't you can check on yours first but if not you will need a scanner to program the fob.

yeap sadly on this model it didn't come with self programming mode u need a tool to do it.

The tool I am using is not an iPad it is a scanner made from the AUTEL COMPANY and they only do special tools for automotive industry and the software comes already installed in the scanner.

I believe you can do it if u have a laptop and if you pay the $40 subscription to ACDELCO website. But you need a j2534 usb or equivalent interface to communicate with the car through the diagnostic port on your car.
