cuantas entradas y salidas puedo tener en Simumatik? como por ejemplo un modulo de expansión 8 E/S con un Siemens 1200? agrego otro PLC con simumatik? How many inputs and outputs can I have in Simumatik? such as an 8 I/O expansion module with a Siemens 1200? Do I add another PLC with simumatik?

Hi Steven, You can have as many IO cards as you want. Use the Rack output in the compact or Rack generic PLCs to connect cards. Do not forget to set the Rack end component at the end of the IO card connections. Does Simumatik generates programs for the Siemens 1200 PLC or does PLCSIm drive the Simumatik simulation? This is not exactly the same thing 🙂

Hi Stéphane! As you can see in this tutorial, Simumatik does not generate PLC programs, it is used to replace the equipment that you want to control with your PLC. The point using Simumatik is to be able to use your actual PLC program to control the model. For industrial users this allows carrying out Virtual Commissioning, while for students it allows to train programming skills with actual PLC programming software, like TIA Portal, Twincat, Codesys, Studio5000, etc...
