I remember around 2012 when Markiplier was just starting out, one thing he did was create a real quick video clip before he went live. One of my favorites is where he has a moustache and is wiggling a whiffle bat at the camera and he basically "threatens" you to go watch the stream. Creative stuff like that will always have a place.

Wow what an excellent video. I just started streaming hard a little less than a month ago. I've been affiliate for 2 weeks and seem to have hit a plateau with average viewers. I managed to bump myself up to 137 followers with your facebook strategy. Fan page, personal page, and i also have a twitter. I post a real tweet occasionally but I'm definitely a "going live bot." You're advice about posting real, engaging tweets and showing myself and my personality are gold! I also need to stop associating myself with #smallstreamer and #supportsmallstreamers or whatever. I COMPLETELY agree with that whole point. Not even necessarily that I'm "begging" but that my content is just expected to be sub-par with comments like that. I need to promote myself like I've been doing this full time for years and years! Thank you so much! You've earned a sub!

True, there are teams that will give you lurkers and get people affiliated, of course they require to also lurk and be active. But when you leave and they kick you out you're back at square one, you spent all this time not improving your content, not building a real fan base that's attached to you or your content. It makes small streamer dependent on the team, it takes time away from you when you could be perfecting your craft and actually making progress. But hey, I don't know every single group/team out there, but you'll rarely see any popular streamer tell you that they got famous by doing essentially lurk for lurk

I am definitely struggling I have like 1 sub and never any viewers. I did the Facebook group thing and it is clearly the wrong way to go.
