You'll notice that there are so many other function words out there that are pronounced with a schwa. Start looking for it when you listen to English. Good luck!!
@frederickhofrederick21645 жыл бұрын
I've been in different youtube videos,but I do enjoy your video most, because your pronunciation is amazing.you correct my pronunciation that I pronounced wrong before,for example, teacher, manager, engineer and particularly, a lot more in prounciation videos.You know, a clear pronunciation and perfect grammar is the key to better English. 'Native' is not the word in my dictionary, that's not my true goal.I won't daydream my days away. I take the right journey I learn from my teacher Hadar.I'm the NEW SPEAKER of English. Right.Thanks so much. Bye for now. I'll see you next week in the next video.

Because "of" is pronunced as "ov" and even "v" when unstressed, this is why some native speakers got it mixed up with "have" (also reduced as " 've", or "v" phonetically). So next time you see someone typing "I would of done that", you won't be surprised.

Please make a video of what should really be heard when you hear a sentence in English, or one that should be given more importance to really understand. What resources are used by natives to understand listening. Thank you from all Latin America.

Great video! I have one minor bone to pick, though. Stressed/fully pronounced "of" is not /av/ but rather /ʌv/. I verified my native speaker sense of this by checking with several online dictionaries. Unstressed "of" is /əv/ or just /ə/. I'm watching your videos to help my language partner improve her English pronunciation, and have sent her links to many of your excellent videos.

In the word( of ) if it comes before a voiceless letter then it pronounces like (af) and if it comes before voiced letter then it pronounces like (av). So It is not like as you explained it
