totally accurate, my throat also hurts trying to pronounce it, especially with the word _pfirsich_
@fabiansaerve3 жыл бұрын
@@avanny3915 it’s no problem if you roll your R. South Germany does that too and even I, as a Bavarian, can’t pronounce her R. And a tip if you really struggle with the r sound you can just skip it in most word. Like in Pfirsich. Just say Pfiasich with a very short a. You’ll still sound like a German :)

I keep hearing the "L" sound, or what I thought was the "L". So when making the "r" sound I started pulling my tongue back a little to the roof of my mouth which helped me to form the sound that I needed to make. If anyone is having issues with "R", that is what worked for me; try pulling your tongue back.

this is not your typical R sound made at the front by most of the Indians. It's German R sound made at the back of the mouth with the help of your throat.

After having watched this film I thought that the German 'R' sound should be called the Chewbacca sound from now on :-) :-) :-) ... and now about my experience with some of German sounds... [ I had been taught by my mother - she was German and I really liked to know her mother tongue ] ... the thing which was really difficult for me wasn't at all the 'R' sound but the pronounciation of German 'O' ... I always pronounced it like Polish 'O' or 'U' which was incorrect ... I was trying to say the name of my favourite German band - DIE TOTEN HOSEN - but I couldn't do it properly ... it was driving my mum crazy ... and after about 20 years I still cannot pronounce it correctly ... it is a kind of 'trap' on me and I always 'lag' when I have to say the German words with the 'O' sound ... :-) :-) :-)

@-julie66914 жыл бұрын
i usually can, but on the other hand i dont really pronounce my "r" like it's shown in the video bc i live in the southern part of germany and we tend to roll our "r" much more (almost like the spanish one) and also not in the back of our throat but with the tip of our tongue :D
