I don't remember if I commented on this video when you posted it 2 yrs ago, but anyway... One of my nannies when I was little showed me how to propagate pineapples. She cut off the top, about an inch below the base of the leaves on top, and then bury that top part of the fruit with all the leaves above ground. The fruit part feeds the cutting in the first 2-3 weeks of growth. ❤

My only gripe with pineapples as houseplants is their need for high light and the fact when they are healthy they are razor sharp. Not a problem for my cacti, because I know and see them as hazards. The pineapple just looks like half of my other plants and I always forget, and get cut. I guess I'm just a silly goose. Damn, I guess I'm in for more as "snitches get stitches." :P

Lovely, lovely video! You're very knowledgeable and you also know how to disseminate your information very effectively. This is what I needed this morning! I have a very sweet pineapple sitting on my dining table and I am going to plant the head as per your video. But I think I will use a mix of cocopeat and regular soil (50-50 mix) in a small container for the next 2-3 months before transplanting it in my garden. Hyderabad climate may not be conducive for pineapple; but no harm in trying, right?

Thank you!! I just potted my first pineapple plant after the water stage. If I’m keeping it indoors in a well lit room, how often should I water it and with how much water? Thank you!!
@onlyplants4 жыл бұрын
At first you should keep the soil on the moist side as the roots need to adapt slowly to drier soil conditions... ive never grown them indoors before but mine gets very inconsistent watering outdoors and they do just fine. Something tells me they are forgiving when it comes to watering but I would err on the underwatering side if I were you.
