It more helpful to use a glass container because you can see what’s going on with the plant without removing it . But other containers can do the job too

I am currently having a try out of leaves propagation. It's been almost 2 weeks and the base / petiole has darkened. I assume it fails, but I am gonna try again next time using your way! very nice clusea you have it there on the video!

I hope you didn’t throw it away, mine took 4 weeks until it started to root. The base also turned dark and i thought it was some kind of mold...but i think that the way it should be

Thank you for making such an informative video, It helped a lot to understand my clusia . It is going brownish and shrinking from middle of main stem , I am not sure what to do, should i just cut the infected part and use the below part with roots on it (will it grow leaves on it ??) I will try to use the top part to propogate new roots

It would have been good to demonstrate your cutting and then show it to us a few weeks later with roots. Your example is a fully rooted plant you took out of the soil and placed it in water.

I'm attempting this at home but you did not mention, since the cutting seeps so much milky sap when cut, do you place in water immedietly or let the end "dry"/harden first?

Thanks for your question Sara, it’s not necessary to let it dry it’s just a preference. However, I would recommend to immediately place it in water.

I don’t think you can easily get seeds but you can’t grow it from another plant by propagating it in soil or water . It easily grows new new roots
