Hi Lucia, thanks for your great video! :) I have a question: there are some small brown dots on the bottom leaves of my Clusia and when I try to wipe them, they don´t get off. Do you maybe know what it might be? Thanks a lot!

@@masha805 hiii! I'm so sorry I missed your comment! I had the same problem... If it is small dots like I had in my clusea, it may mean lack of sunlight /water/humidity... In my case it was lack on sunlight... I brought my plant closer to my window and the dots started to disappear, how's your plant doing? I know this may be a bit late, but thought it may be useful!

Big tip here. The clusia rosea produces aieral roots that can be woven into any shape that can be made with chicken wire. In nature they are pooped out by birds onto branches as seeds where they make the aieral root to reach the ground. Thus to produce a weaveable root you must start a seed in a very small container. When the aieral root develops guide it into your chicken wire lattice. Finally let it root into the ground. The intertwined aieral roots ultimately fuse into one as the shape you chose and can live for hundreds if not thousands of years

Hiii 🥰! I usually put my plants in a pot with drainage holes and then put that pot in a decorative pot (just to make sure I don't over water and to be able to use the bottom watering method). However, if you'd like to leave in that one pot, I'd recommend putting drainage stones (or expanded clay pebbles) at the bottom - - this will help with drainage so the water doesn't stay in the soil when watering from the top... And try to water your plant from the top with not so much water to make the soil moit but not wet.. However, if you are just starting with plants, I strongly recommend getting a pot with drainage holes, as these really help when preventing overwatering as well as root bound once your plant grows :) I hope this is helpful, and let me know how it goes ♥️🌿!

My clusia is showing small brown tips on some leaves that kinda look like scale but are actually hard brown parts of the leaves. Any idea on what might be causing it and how to solve it?

Your video was very informative. The only thorough video about Clusia Rosea. I have some cuttings a friend gifted me and I put them in water to grow roots. The roots grew and I planted in a pot. My plant now looks so sad. I'm scared to loose her. Her leaves have stayed green but they lost their thickness and just droopy. I water constantly and have her in bright light but not direct sun. Do you have any suggestions?

hey Rut! I also have a clusia rosea. Perhaps you are watering it too often? these plants are very forgiving so don't be scared to let the soil dry out a bit before you give it more water (I water mine every 10 days, she is very happy now). Plants take time to adapt to their new home (pot), and yours might have entered a 'shock' stage, this is quite normal. I recommend to not do anything to it for a week or so. Best of luck!

First of all, I love seeing that you guys are helping each other here this is sooo cool! 🥰 I agree with Jannine, sometimes when we move our cuttings from water to soil, the plant may experience some shock, as she is in a new environment... Also, yes... You may be watering more than needed, I usually water my Clusia Rosea every 10 days or so... How is your Clusia Rosea doing now? Let us know how it goes 💜

Just wanted to drop by and give you a small update. I did leave my baby out and 'forgot' about her so I wouldn't continue to over water her. When I remembered her, we had several days of major down pour so I thought I was going to really loose her. But I just wish I could share pictures here!! Her original leaves never bounced back but this week she shot out new growth! Thank you so much for your time and for your help!!

Can you help Lucia? I am new to plant care and I recently acquired a beautiful autograph tree. Over the 3 weeks I've had it, about 7-8 leaves have become discolored and fell off. It looks like cold damage (I live in NY and it is winter), but in the house I have followed all the care rules you mentioned in the video. I have no idea why it still drops leaves. Is this a delayed response to being transported outside to my car during winter time when I got it? Could it be from being within 2' of a window that is cold to the touch? The house temp is about 70 degrees, the plant is in a southeast facing window and it has a humidity tray. It had gnats that I am treating with neem oil. I have watered it once since I got it, it is due to be watered again in the coming few days.

@@PlantsandLucia Thank you for answering I re potted about 2 weeks ago I used jungle growth flower and vegetable potting mix from lowes I have water twice, when i first potted it then a week later, I water until water comes out the bottom, the plant is facing south it might get 3 to 4 hours of sun, it sits in my covered patio Thanks
