I am in Central Florida and discovered Night Blooming Jasmine about 4 years ago. The smell is intoxicating! Fortunately my neighbor had the bush and filled me in. We bought 2 of them from a local nursery. Took 2 years before we got flowers and smell but its well worth it now. We now have 4 bushes around the house and after watching your video I plan to propagate more. Thanks :-)

Hello there, did you do anything to have it bloom? My Jasmine is so busy growing .It’s about 5 inches tall and still growing, leaves long and broad and lots of off shoots. It did all this in a a room whose light cast a shaded afternoon light. It’s summer where I am , so it’s now outside where it gets approximately 2 to possibly 3 1/2 hours of sun but mostly bright shade, that it was getting in the room.

In the Philippines, Night Blooming Jasmine is called "Dama de Noche" translated as Lady of the Night. I was just a little girl when I first smelled its fragrant scent in the old house in the Province of Pampanga. I ordered recently for my own NBJ online and can't wait for its arrival. Thank you so much for sharing and if you could please share also care tips and fertilizing requirements of NBJ. Keep safe and healthy!

This is NOT true Jasmine, it is a Jessamine, Latin name 'Cestrum nocturnum'. It is NOT a vine, it is a shrub from the West Indies Carribean originally. Prefers temperatures that never go under 70 degrees Fahrenheit and well drained soil with time to dry slightly between waterings to avoid root rot. If you live in hot, desert conditions, make sure you provide some shade as it is a jungle plant and prefers the higher humidity of its Native West Indies.

Only one blooming cycle so far this year, and many leaves are turning transparent... its home is not in a very sunny place and it's too large to transplant, but I'd love to see a couple more blooming cycles before winter. Hi there, just wondering, did your plant flower that year? I bought a 12" plant that was delivered in May, put it into a 14" container and I've had it outside since (summer here) and it has grown, I'd say maybe 3". Wondering whether there's even a sliver of a chance that I'll get flowers this year? Do you know what height the plant needs to get to flower? Thanks alot

About how long did it take for it to grow those roots, to that size in the tennis ball container? Did you have to add any nutrients to the soil? Did you have to keep it in the dark or was it out in the sun every day?

You gave absolutely no guidelines on propagating. What season did you do this in? How long did it take to root? How much did you water or ? You told us not to use woody branches... That's only moderately helpful. Please try again with helpful info on the actual propagating part vs transplanting part.

@EasyPeasyGardening
@EasyPeasyGardening 5 жыл бұрын
It all depends. Just after a transplantation, I want to protect the plant and keep it in a controlled environment. Once it's settled, it can be moved out in sun. So even though your plant is small, if it's well settled, then you can put it in sun but watch it closely. If it starts to burn or wilt, put it in filtered light area. Best is to slowly change its climate.
