Kool video, even tho it was from 5yrs ago. lol. I've been using and treating tap (city water). Looking into getting an RO system. I now have 4 tanks, 3 more on the back burner. I have shrimp in 1 tank, Just set up the 2nd shrimp tank tonight with an under gravel filter. I've also starting an iron supplement, noticeable difference. Enjoying your sense of humor, the Scottish accent as well, grandmother was Irish (right off the boat) I didn't know how much Imissed it. lol Keep it going, and keep on, Keepin' on!!! Ed

Do you ever notice any difference in the colors or being the same species are they all pretty much the same just different colors through culling? Play do they behave differently or do different colors need different parameters, Even though they’re in the same species? 🤔

All my tanks are 120-150 ppm, I do know some people that breed them at 180ppm so they have a wide range ..the most important thing is to not keep on changing stuff all the time because you want to avoid forcing them to molt :)

Hi Mark. :) I was just curious about how your Stardusts turned out. Do they still look the same? Mine (also from Relicon) had a color change after a couple of months, where all the blue turned brown-ish and they’ve stayed like that ever since (few months). But they seem to be healthy and fine, molting regularly, and one of them is full of eggs now. I was unsure if there might be something «wrong» with my setup. The Green Neons/Jades in the same tank were black out of the bag, and are now a very dark green, but still look black from a distance. Think I should be worried? CO2, pH 7.0, KH 3, GH 5, 23˚C. Living with Ember Tetras in a 63l. Monte Carlo carpet and lots of Java moss.

Sadly mine died, and they were the only shrimp I ever seen that had the red head vibrio infections while they were still alive, I almost lost all of my Royal Blue tigers in that tank because of it.

@@MarksShrimpTanks Sorry to hear that! Sounds nasty. I only lost a couple of the Jades and a couple of the Stardust SS, within the first few weeks. Not sure if my drip acclimation was too fast or if it was because this one tank was still relatively new. But I haven't lost a single one after that and now they're breeding, as mentioned. I'll take that as a good sign. 😊 The Stardust look awesome and I want a lot of them.

Hello Mark. I love you Stardust Shrimp. They are Gorgeous. As we were going through your tanks I noticed that each one has blue orbs and several have piles of white. What are these ? I keep shrimp as well I have grown to like them alot in the past year I always keep ghost shrimp I find them very active and love watching them swim in the tank I also have some orange shrimp in a ten gallon both are planted tanks heavily planted so lots of room to hide and feel safe. The ghost shrimp reproduce so I always have them the orange shrimp I just bought and I would like more. I saw the stardust in this video and I want them now too. I like your collection maybe I will have to try some of those stardust soon.

Yeah you should, I like having variety in the shrimp room because it keeps it interesting especially in mixed tanks because you never know whats going to pop out next :)

I don't think this store has them, but i would definitely get some more Atya Gabonensis. I have 3 of these filter shrimps already and i just love them. Plus they are interesting, and mine are an awesome shade of blue, which is stunning to look at. Have you ever had one of these Mark?

Still can't find any Aegla platensis though, no matter where i search. I saw some shrimp keep place the bag of shrimp first inside their tank than later do drip Acclimate. Is it can skip the step? Just do straight do drip acclimate? Yeah thats a good idea if you know there is a big difference in temperature, seller water is giving me free micro animals. but yes you can sometime get pests like planari or hydra but you get good life like copepods.

I don't fancy those high end, I want to get is fire red. Which a lot claim is a beginner shrimp to start with. So when I got the shrimp need to place the bag inside my tank let say for 10 to 20 mins than open the plastic bag pour inside the container and do drip acclimate later after let say 1 one hour . I scope the shrimp put inside the tank. Right don't pour the water that come with it. If I get you right thanks.

So disappointed with a local dealer. I ordered 14 Bloody Mary juveniles and they sent me 10 babies no more than 2 weeks old. It pays to read reviews before you place an order, many others have had the same problem.

@@MarksShrimpTanks As it turns out they did all survive but only 2 were legitimate Bloody Marys. The rest were a mix of Red Rilis and Red Cherries. It'll be a bit of a mixed breed colony for a while to come. I'm guessing they just sent me their culls and hoped i wouldn't notice.
