Finally, someone instructs the pressure on the door jam! Why do many other videos tell ppl to inflate to the max psi on the tire? And so many ppl actually follow those instructions!

And remember, for every 10 degrees F, either up or down, comes a corresponding increase or reduction of approximately 1 psi. This occurs when air or nitrogen fill is used for airing tires (per the gas laws).

I used to find inflating my tires a chore. Then I got the milwaukee tire inflator and i look forward to it now haha. Highly recommend it to everyone. It tells you your tire pressure and it auto shuts off when your reach your desired tire pressure

Ok. You inflate your tires to the right psi, in the summer time let’s say. Mine are 45psi. You then drive it and the pressure then increases over the maximum psi. I’ve seen as much as 6-7 psi increase. Then what do you do? Ty.

So does it matter, if you fill the tire on the ground, or in the air? Or does this just make it easier on the compressor?

Is it much more difficult to change a tire at a low temperature? I completed my 1st tire and ready for the 2nd one, but the temperature here dropped. I saw in one film how they heated the tire w/heat gun, but how much, where exactly, all that is kind of vauge. Also in that film they were working on tractor tires, I have just regular passenger car (R16 tires). My HF Tire Machine is mounted outside, while it is snowing I won't do anything, but tomorrow it will be clear. So I decided to do a small research on the subject meanwhile. At what temperature you can change tire more or less comfortably, can you do it @45F, or it is too low? My main concern is that I can tear the tire or burn it w/heater gun. Thank you for a great (as usually) film.

Again and again I see the one piece of most important information gets left out is: what does "COLD TIRE PRESSURE" means. A cold tire can be under the shade of a tree in the Arizona dessert or on top of the snowy Rocky Mountain with huge temperature differences so what is the standard of the "COLD TIRE PRESSURE" on the sticker? "COLD TIRE PRESSURE" on the sticker means that the pressure listed on the sticker is based on the ambient temperature of 68F/20C; therefore, the air would need to be either added or removed if the ambient temperature is over or under 68F/20C when checking for the correct tire pressure. For more information on how get the correct tire pressure please use the link provided: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_inflation_pressure

CONCUR! it drives me crazy also that no one in these dang videos actually knows/mentions what cold tire pressure temperature actually is.... you must be an engineer like myself... lol

Ok explain to me what I’m doing wrong. I went this morning to fill my tires. Both fronts were fine. But both rears for some reason we’re not getting a good seal and one lost air instead of getting air. Also the nozzle was defective. It was blowing air even while not being depressed.

I have a similar problem. The gas station tire inflators are really difficult to use. I have a hard time getting the nozzle to seal properly around the valve.

33psi since thats the recommended. On the tire its saying 50 psi because its just telling you how much it can handle, dont fill it up that much do 33 psi

Is it important for everyday drivers to inflate to exact PSI as shown on tire placard - which is located on driver door post? Why? Does it have to be performed on a weekly basis (about twice a week)? Why? Can you explain to me and help me on why it must be done like this?

I think this is all bs. That door sticker is for factory tires. Nobody is on those tires 60k miles later. It's like saying a nice after market tire is the same as a cheap factory tire. The pressure on the tire is an engineering fact. Under a few pounds from that is cool, but 51 psi tire at 33 psi sounds like bs to me. Some low profile tire are way higher than that. If you run those at 33 your about 50% under inflated. Ford and Goodyear done went through all this with the Bronco years ago. Goodyear, said fill to the label on the tire. Ford said our POS bronco rolls over... Yeah. Ford won, but tire guy said and Ford designed crap that killed people and told them to run low, and killed more people. Not buying any of this door sticker nonsense. Would you follow the oil label for a stock motor after buying and installing a high performance crate motor? Same thing.
@CORYJOHNM2 жыл бұрын
So if you turn your car into a dragster and run some slicks are you going to follow the Micky's label or the door sticker? 😆 That aftermarket tire has different sidewall thickness than a stock tire.
