De Gas, pull the bolt out, swab from the back of the gun out the barrel tip ( When you get a chance ) This will get the paint by the eyes especially after you did a quick swab by sticking the swab down the front of barrel to the bolt tip ( huge build up of paint by the eyes and where the paint ball sits in the gun ) Also beginners if you're looking for a great tournament gun 160r's and XDR'S are less than 400$ Almost every professional gun is a copy of a 160r why not go with the OG it's still the best🎉 Big Paintball will probably try and kill me for telling you this

Usually if you have force fed hopper a ball should be in the breach ready to fire. Thus that tension you are feeling is the paintball not the front of the bolt, thus shouldn’t get past the eyes to get paint on them. That’s why it’s good to know if you have a barrel break or breach break to.

The first step is to not use those exalt swabs, they are terrible. The squeegee end doesn't grab the barrel to actually bulge out and squeegee. The fabric end is micro fiber so it doesn't actually absorb just moves the paint around.

I dunno, they've worked pretty well for me. Especially because paint seems to be getting smaller...I've been using a lot of .82 backs.

@@jberry1979 I used those for about 5 years before I finally gave up on them. Try this as an experiment. Crack a paintball then put it in the breach and fire once. Run that exalt swab in while you are looking down the feedneck and you will see it push a ton of paint straight into the breach rather than passing over it to pull it out of the barrel. As much as I'm not usually a HK fan they probably make the best swab currently but I'm not saying it's perfect by any means, there's still room for improvement on it
