I get the power focus...but I don't think there is anything wrong with flipping it to exhaustion. It is quite simple...flip big tire get strong

Its about focus and power

That tire is about 450 , but when you get a heavier tire you have to move your feet back some . And lift at and angle , as it gets to waist height you pop it with your knee . To get time to drop back in the hole . So you can push it on over.
@adamschafer3428 жыл бұрын
cress1974 if you have to bring your feet back to create leverage to help lift a heavier tire you should probably use a lighter tire. Otherwise your risk vs. reward of the movement is now compromised . Lighter tire and work on mechanics and speed .
@cress19748 жыл бұрын
Adam Schafer it's kool , i just like the challenge of the heavy tires. Got one that i flip . It's a little over 900 . I like that it takes a lot of body force to flip it. Can only get 4 and I'm done with it. I have one the same size at the one y'all are flipping. Me and my son will flip it the way y'all where showing. Like the podcast a lot . The videos are rockin too. Just watch these Mai tais!

@@Impel-p8e my tire is off a rubber tire loader . It has about 3 inches more tread. I weighed it and it’s 440 . If you don’t believe me look up the tire and get the numbers off it. Than look it up . It will show you the shipping weight.

I agree with Mighty Succ, my tyre weighs four hundred pounds and is 5' 6" tall. It takes a lot of effort to raise it off the ground and I do 18 reps, then I bray at it with a sledge hammer to get my back moving. To do it three or four times would be a waste.

I second the comments that with a heavier tyre you will need to go from your initial lift, to a transition, and push. I am 105 KG and train with 400 sometimes 500 KG tyres. You cant flip them in one movement lifr that. Unless you are the Hulk. Thanks for the video though.

Almost everything said in this video is incorrect. This might work with a very light tire but not heavy ones.
@pastelle_music3 жыл бұрын
with a lighter tire why would you strongman lift it? It's so low to the ground, unless you're extremely short your body is going to be at way too acute of an angle to lift it
@TheStrengthClassroom3 жыл бұрын
@@pastelle_music that is true. But they never distinguish different techniques. The video is titled how to PROPERLY lift a tire.
2:19 that doesn't look like a neutral spine to me... Careful doing this if you have bulging discs. Its basically a deadlift.

Agree with the other comments. This only works on a lighter tire. And I always use it as a FINISHER to fatigue. I find this ass backwards. Tire flips, sledgehammer, prowlers, always finishers to drain the tank. I would never use it as a primer.. probably crossfitters..🤣

How not to flip a HEAVY tire. You will be at a high risk of bicep tears. You want to see a good tire flip look how Strongman flip them. NARROW STANCE! Straight arms and Wide grip! On your toes not a flat footed and push your SHOULDERS INTO THE TIRE AND LIFT AT THE SAME TIME. Than once you get it off the ground you explode the hips like a power clean. Triple extension!

When I flipper a 150 lbs tire for 12-20 times I get out of breath a little bit and dizzy. Is this normal or there is some medical problem? This is the only exercise that make me dizzy after intensive repititions.

Don't worry but don't push it. Take a break when it happens, get back to it. Used to happen to me quite often especially with tire flips. Just have to build the conditioning for it and it'll go away within a couple of weeks from my experience

@pastelle_music3 жыл бұрын
I see these comments everywhere and it's bad information. Strongman tire flips are with a much bigger tire and requires a different stance. You're not going to tear a bicep or have back problems if you lift a tire the size in this video if done as shown.

Tire size affects how you lift it kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4japYKMeKqsrqc
@danielglatz16433 жыл бұрын
Peter Lestelle yes. You are. Strongman tires would be even harder to lift this way. Because they’re longer and wider, and therefore would be more difficult to get leverage straight underneath like that. He’s lifting a lighter, smaller tire, which is why he’s able to get away with lifting it like that.
