The main way I play solo zomboid is the CDDA challenge and this video cleared up SO much for me. In retrospect the fatigue check explains most of my "permanent" colds . If you don't find alcohol, sleeping pills, or a needle you can't sleep until near-max fatigue because of the groin pain. And you can't loot or do much of anything with a max level cold and high fatigue. I'd get frustrated and neglect other moodles and eventually abandon the save.
@Galipheo Жыл бұрын
The hardest part of CDDA is losing the initial cold, as it seems like every time you cough/sneeze your character makes more noise than honking a car horn. I figured out that the barn next to the farm house north of the initial spawn is a great area to kill a cold by sleeping inside (since I would run with claustrophobic and every other structure made it impossible to sleep inside).

I lost my character last night because of a cold. I stayed out in the rain out on the north edge of Muldraugh a little too long and got the first sign of the snifflies. The worst part is as I was heading back down the freeway, I could hear just a very faint soi soi soi soi soi... Slammed on the gas to try to get inside before it spotted me, but it was too late. I had a helicopter trailing me, the sniffles turned into a fullblown nasty cold, and what's worse the drowsy kicked in as the helicopter showed up. Died at sundown from the fever and trying to find a safe sleeping spot, gas still running on that truck. RIP Cathy Pipkin. Anyways on my next run I'm taking Outdoorsman and keeping an eye out for those magazines.

Most of PZ is partly realistic but very exagerated.
@caracalfloppa4997 Жыл бұрын
Because PZ mechanics are gamified, they're meant to appear realistic but only represent a real world phenomenon rather than copying it. Intuitiveness wins out over pure realism in almost every single game design decision with this game, and lots of corners are cut to smooth out the gameplay experience. Conventional wisdom is that if you're cold or wet you'll catch a cold. So PZ emulates that.
