I feel like a big reason why scale starts to feel like it doesn’t matter when things get too big is because there isn’t something to compare it to. With some cinematography and some tall mountains that look tiny in comparison this could look insanely megalophobic.

I just want to say that I love your editing style, always have ever since I discovered your channel with the first scariest mod series or something I don't remember what it's called exactly. What I also love is how much it has evolved, but has also mantained it's essence. It's not simple anymore, quite well done (with all due respect to previous videos) but it still has the ironic feel, the comedy breaks in it. I just love it.

Have you heard of the concept of The Sublime as put forward by Edmund Burke and later Emanuel Kant? Cuz its exactly the feeling you describe, a Stressful Melancholy. Its us reaching the absolute limits of what our imagination can comprehend and as we are forced to reconcile with the lack of vastness in our own minds it produces that feeling of awe and passive fear.

I agree with what you said at 0:54. I think all three of those things are related because they create a feeling of powerlessness. You cannot leave the hell that is the backrooms, cannot escape the mental deterioration of dementia, and cannot do anything against an object so large. It’s like the fear of death. Death is so scary because it lasts forever. Death is inescapable, unstoppable, and HUGE. I’ve died in dreams lots of times and the sensation of dread feels just like megalophobia

One of the most genuine feelings of megalophobia come from looking at the planets in our solar system. Even just the moon did it for me, although the effect is lessened once you remember humans walked on it like 5 times for up to 3 days at one point. Watching the gap between saturn and its rings and seeing all 4 major moons of jupiter alongside it is an ethereal experience

I like the idea, you should make a followup. First builds didnt quite make it, but I get the gist of it. I liked the tall grass and the infinite wheat. It somehow reminds me of the Gladiator ending, when Maximus walks through the wheat fields. But in your case I think it makes the building larger, makes you feel something. Hole on the other hand, I think is the different spectrum than megalophobia, maybe trypophobia? Sphere in a pyramid is more of a cool idea, looks grandiose. But the last building hit the spot like a hammer hitting a nail to the board, spot on! It makes me feel small. Like I said, you should do a second one.

i think being inside the structures is scarier than looking at them from the outside. It's like looking up and seeing only the big structure. it dulls the senses
