How to Properly Mix BARBICIDE® Concentrate

Proper mixing ratios depending on the size of your mixing container
Tips on how to quickly mix your BARBICIDE® daily!
BARBICIDE® concentrate is mixed correctly by adding 2 oz (1/4 cup) concentrate to 32 oz (4 cups) of cold water. BARBICIDE® TB concentrate is mixed correctly by adding 1 oz (2 tbsp) of concentrate to 128 oz (1 gallon) of cold water. Note: BARBICIDE® TB should only be used in states where it is required.

Love this video! As a long time licensed cosmetologist, manager and educator I'm always asked "how do I become a great colourist". I always say show me your Barbicide! The response WTH⁉️ I tell them if your Barbicide is too light or too dark it isn't mixed properly and you don't get the desired effect right? Right. Well, the same way your tools won't be properly disinfected without following the Barbicide mixing ratios is the same way you want get a great colour result if you don't read and follow the proper mixing ratio of your colour and developer. It's so important!

Alex used tap water. I might suggest using distilled water for mixing Barbicide for letting your implements soak. Tap water may have unknown amounts of hard minerals and other potential problems which might dull scissors or other barbering tools. Using distilled water prevents hard water build-up. If the Salon has a water softener unit, this may be less of an issue.

I’ve noticed that on the bottle it does say 2oz to 32oz water.. but I do notice there is a jar that is for 21oz that you sell also. How many oz of barbicide would you put in there?

And for a person who is using these things to serve for personal use, not a licensed professional for anything, just want to stay at home as much as possible with the times these days, how long would you use this before throwing it out and making more?

@@lemons2lemonade884 Per State Board (usually a national standard); a fresh batch of Barbicide must be done daily. Additionally, Barbicide's label on their package states daily fresh batches.

Gen x math. 2 oz/32 oz=.0625 oz solution per 1 oz of water. 21 oz x .0625= 1.3 oz of solution. Apoximately 2 and a half tablespoons.

The Barbicide drainer basket has pre-markings for the fill line for 2oz, 4oz or 6oz line. So fill your water up to that level then add the Barbicicde. You don't have to mark the container.

no it’s safer to make fresh batches everyday

Check with your state board; most REQUIRE fresh barbicide daily.

I didn’t know that using too much is a waste of money.. if your ratio is correct then no need to over do it.

Noticed while watching the video. You should be using gloves with any chemicals. And if I’m correct before you put Barbicide on any time either sprayed or merged in solution the item should be dried
