1)is the hamzatul wasl pronunced the same way as a glottal stop ( im asking about the way hamzatul wasl is pronounced not how to find out whether the hamzatul wasl is fatha kasra or dammah) 2)when we pronounce fatha on a thin letter it is pronounced as "a" as in cat and we smile to make it light and if we pronounce fatha as "a" in large the fatha will become heavy. However some scholars do pronounce the fatha on thin letters as "a" in large but they smile. Even reciters like mishary al afasy pronounce the fathas in maliki yawmiddin as "a" in large but they smile while pronouncing. I wanna know that is smiling enough to make a fatha light or do we need to smile and as well as pronounce fatha as "a" in cat. Some scholars say that if we pronounce fatha as "a" in large it becomes heavy. So y does mishary al afasy pronounce light fathas as "a" in large. Plz explain
@SonicBoom474
@SonicBoom474 4 жыл бұрын
1) If what you meant by glottal stop is an unvocalized hamza sakina then the answer is no. Hamzatul wasl is only pronounced after a pause in the speech (and obviously at the very beginning). It doesn't matter what made you pause, when you start to talk after a pause you treat it as a normal hamza. Additionally, when pronounced it is ALWAYS vocalized and never sakina ( unvocalized) . In classical arabic one never starts talking with an unvocalized consonnent. 2) no idea what kind of videos you are referring to. I have never heard mashari do what you say and just checked quickly some of his recitations of Chapter 1 and didn't find the pronunciation issue that you are talking about.

Hi there. in third example, the م is with shadda in which read for 2 harakat... then, it's followed with a sign of long elongations ( ٓٓٓٓ ), thus, I would like to clarify how to read this in terms of madd, like 2 harakat, plus another long 4 or 5 harakat?
@Arabic101
@Arabic101 4 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct. so in this example: فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَوۡهُ مَوۡثِقَهُمۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٞ (surat Yusuf 66) You'll see the the word فلما > the meem has shaddah = 2 harakat , and it follow directly by alif for which you can give 4 harakat. Like that: soundcloud.com/aii-fek/question-yt Hope this answers the question, and any other questions, please let me know

I have a question (not about this video). Lemme give an example of what happens to me in english, imagine instead of saying 'aaaaaaaaaa' one says 'aaaAaAaAaaa' or something like that. Like imagine someone runs and then afterwards they try saying 'aaaaaaaaaa', like it isn't steady in one 'tone'. Not too extreme when a person is out of breath, but something that can be noticed when listened to carefully. But it's hard to hold it steady. So now that you understood what happens to me in english. If my voice shakes when I recite. Is that a problem? Does it count as a mistake?
