Tried this step by step, boots feel much better, was worried as had been struggling with them after spending a fair bit of money with a boot fitter. Crazy the difference a bit of technique makes when putting them on.

One thing you have go keep in mind is some people have a high arch foot and sometimes getting the foot to slip into the liner can be difficult. You may have to open the boot up slightly and then slide your foot in while pulling on the tongue strap. Good video!!

Good call about one thin sock. I remember in high school hearing people say they would wear two pairs of socks! These people were also skiing in scotch-guarded jeans.

Rebound what a great idea! I'm a Mountain Host for 14 years, stand at 11,000' sometimes in zero degrees. New Dahle boots are custom, but 'feel' thin as to liners, so I am working on how to warm them up! Wearing CEP compression thermo socks DOES make my feet sweat, and I admit to adding Lil' Hotties to the pinkie toe box area, adhesive to the sock. My issue is working means coming in and out of a warm lodge, back on the snow for 8 hrs. Tried thin socks once, it "felt' cold. I'm past Hotronics, those are cheaters, I'm not that cold. I do add Dry Guy Boot gloves. Be glad to Save your brilliant video as I help dozens of new skiers into their boots, it's not pretty! Any recommendation on Merino thin socks would be appreciated. I am experimenting with a low blow dryer pre boot up, but that doesn't last at under 32, with wind, and elevation. I ski about 70 days a year.

with a high end performance boot and fit, pulling up on the tongue causes the instep to pull out of its natural place. rather pull on the tongue toward the side and twist your foot into the boot. 150+ days a year.

Don't forget to change your socks or let them dry out a bit in the car first. If you drove to the resort, your feet have been sweating in your socks even if you don't really notice it. I think this is one of the big reasons people get cold feet. So, you should have driving socks and skiing socks. Change before you boot up or take your shoes off, keep your car heater on, and let your socks try for about 10 minutes.

Thanks for this man! I totally didn't think about this. Gonna try this next time as I do have cold feet usually. Cheers!
