*Great lightweight shelter. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s love how it blocks the light from outside. It was a pain to open the first time but now that it is broke in goes up easy..*

Good lesson. Now, in real time, please make a "How to Properly TAKE DOWN a Hub Shelter". Know it's in reverse, but folding up is a task, too.

This is really interesting but all the ones that I’ve ever Bought especially the hunting blinds you always pull the top up first which your way seems a lot easier
@Jayzc662 жыл бұрын
Very easy setting up but it's the take down is what gets me.

It really helped me and brother when we needed it at -15

I never anchor mine on calm days. Never had a problem. If there is a little breeze, I'll anchor a couple spots facing the wind on my 6 sided hub.

I have a 360 Thermal, I don't care what the instructions say, I pull out one wall with Zipper then climb inside and push out the other 3 and the roof last, it's what ever works best for you.

Thank you, just bought a Frabill portable. I've set up mu buddies with him a few times but it didn't play out like this! Lol. This was great, no pole snaps here!
@earlwagner59402 жыл бұрын
I have as much trouble collapsing my Frabill as I do setting it up if not more. I wish you had taken as much time with the takedown.

On a windy day put at least one ice anchor in first so your hub don’t blow away . Then when up finish screwing it down
@JM-fc9gm7 жыл бұрын
Slightest bit of wind turns these into kites. Best to anchor down.

We set ours up inside out, is that possible or was it factory assembled backwards?

Obviously you did not pay for that shelter or you would not be walking on the canvas material with ice cleats.

Thanks. I got a little shelter. Vevor. 60" sides. Very hard to set up. No success yet. Maybe tomorrow...

50 degrees and you don't even need to strap it down? Don't listen to that comment. All it takes is one gust of wind and you loose your shelter. Even if you have snow packed down on the corners of the tent. I learned a rough lesson last winter. I was able to get my tent back though haha. I got lucky.

My buddy bought a clam hut like this. There were no anchor points @ the corners. He added them into the skirt. I bought an Eskimo has em in their huts. Saved $ and time with Eskimo.

Yeah, sunny, no wind, 50 degrees. NO need for a shelter.

Watched a bunch of these not strapped down tip over this year. Even those old suitcase clams seemed to stay up but those "hub" designs definitely need to be screwed down.

I bought this (non-insulated) for cold weather high mountain desert camping as opposed to the regular screen sided CLAM w/Velcro sides... To use more as a Privacy Tent and to keep warm if needed.

I have an Outsunny 4-6 and it was not that easy. The roof took about 80lbs of pressure to open.

Are these hubs/tents good for staying overnight ?
@nicknick18642 жыл бұрын
Nice that you didn't have ANY Wind that day. More often than not, it is necessary to anchor the ice shack before popping it up because of wind, even mild wind.
@howtogetoutofbabylon897810 ай бұрын
So why didn't you show to take it down and fold it up? 11 months ago I set it up. Now I'm trying to take it down... No success yet... Maybe tomorrow.

I bought one on Kijiji the guy showed me it popped up but when I took it home the four corners don’t line up and it doesn’t pop up right (at all) did I get screwed over and can I fix this problem?
@gregsteele5813 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem with mine, haven't even had it on the ice yet, try to master it in my living room floor, corners don't even come close to lining up, let me know if you figured out how to fix that, very very frustrating. Thank you

This is NOT what the instructions state!!! Instruction manual states: NOTE: The blue looped hub (roof) gets deployed FIRST on set-up and collapsed LAST on take-down.
@boochful7 жыл бұрын
They won’t fly away if you bring a tiny shovel with you. Just shovel all around the base on top of the material with slushy snow and it’s completely fine in heavy winds.
@thieme13136 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you consider high winds. Went out today 25-35 mph with 50mph gusts.
@Mahigeer16 жыл бұрын
Not recommended to seal the bottom. You need some air to flow through the tent. Especially if the doors are zipped.
@brentcorr20423 жыл бұрын
best tip is put in the ice pegs first so it doesnt blow away and its easier to pop up

ARe these better than Eskimo tents?
@AdamWoodhouse6 жыл бұрын
In my research, no they are not. Simply a different brand with very minor differences. Both Clam and Eskimo are very good quality. If you don't have any brand loyalty ... watch for a sale and get either at an end-of-season discount. :)

He should at least teach u how to put it down. Cause that step is important. If u don't closed the top first...n u closed the side first. U gonna have a major problem. All arms or u can called legs get all tangle up. Nxt time u open up. It aint gonna look right

@nickzee77233 жыл бұрын
50 degrees doesn't require a shelter

You are setting up a shelter on a day you don't need a shelter. You wouldnt be making it look easy if it were a windy day.
