Another Great Video, Mike. There was a lot of work done during that call. Most companies charge extra for a Combustion Test. The customer seemed pleased. I have never used WD40 on burner tubes, learn something new every day. Be safe out there Mike.

I was surprised y how quickly you completely that service call! I’m retired now but replacing thermocouples on furnaces and boilers was the primary repair we did back in the 80’s. Oh and replacing filters and fan belts on gas’s furnaces.

Those clips are shipping retention clips they are not needed for normal operation. Oh, I guess what you can’t ask the manufacture to confirm that because they bankrupt.

Excellent job Mikey. Your fee is very fair and justified. I had one question does the flame need to be adjusted when replacing burner tubes? I was thinking once you replace a burner tube or clean it will the flame be too high causing the rollout switch to trip?. Great video.

Replacing the Thermocouple on my furnace today. Also going to take the pilot line off of the valve and blow a little air through it because the flame seems a little lazy. Never did it before so I appreciate your video, it’ll help me a lot. Would you suggest also using WD-40 on the burners to clean them up a bit? The furnace hasn’t been touched for 10+ years!

i just replaced my thermocouple and the pilot light still wont stay on while hitting the rod after letting go of the red button. could the issue be with the gas valve ?

if the pilot flame is good, then yes, you'd be needing a new gas valve

Never use WD 40 to clean the burners it contains kerosene and water . I take it to the sink and wash it with hot water thoroughly . Even the l pilot burner . Combustion test should be in the draft hood above 12 " from the heat exchanger . Putting the probe in the flue diverter can cause ambient air to sense that can lead to incorrect reading in the efficiency test . And over all great job .

Upon seeing you doing the same thing there was a lot of anxiety on my part knowing how dangerous that is but you knew what you were doing. I think you should not show these things on your videos because There are alot of beginners out there seeing that done by you but do not know how dangerous it is. Please advise

The price is whatever a customer agrees to pay. I know plenty of HVAC guys and they all buy houses, do flips, and buy investment properties from me. They have tons of money. The point is if the guy has 10 boilers he should learn how to replace a thermocouple because it's the most common thing to go wrong. @@mitchdenner9743
