Awesome! I always wondered what I was supposed to do with that screw able top on my prs tuning pegs. Thanks!

Looked perfect to me. In my experience, I want enough slack in my string (barely) so when tuned, the string is more than 90 degrees, but less than a full turn. If less than 90 degrees, the lock on tuner must be much tighter to keep from pulling out. Lock doesn't need near as much "tightness" after the 90 degree point.

Hi John, In my experience you have to pull the strings very taught otherwise you will have to make more than one winding on the shaft. What am I doing wrong ? I have the old wings, phase II and S2 Phase II tuners.

You do need to pull any slack out of the string, but you do not need to pull it "very taught" as you describe. Ideally you want to end up with approximately 3/4 of a wind on the post. So, however you achieve that end result is great! You most definitely do not want multiple winds on the post of any locking style tuner. That defeats the intended purpose of the design...

Hi John, thanks for your comment.( Orkie has done a video too some years ago). I have to say that the wound strings are not so much trouble. It's mostly the case with the plain strings. There's to much slack on them. Once they are settled in the trem and tuners work like a charm though. By the way, it's a pity your fine producst aren't available in europe. If I would order something from your shop the taxes wil cost me an arm and a leg. cheers.

Why? What's wrong with any other type of stringing?
@mannmadeusa1254 Жыл бұрын
Multiple winds are simply not necessary with a locking tuner.

Hi John, Just got my hands on my first PRS a few days before christmas. Love it to pieces, but since I changed strings, the tuning hasn't been as stable. Next time I change strings, I will try this method. I also am looking to replace my S2's stock bridge. I see one from Wudtone, and you have a few. You claim to have increased sustain on your bridges. How do your bridges do this? Thanks for the video, and I most likely will buy a new bridge soon, I'm just curious how it works.

You can Solve the tuning problems changing the nut. I did it and now I can abuse of the trem bar and the guitar never goes out of tune. TUSQ XL
