How to properly use suture scissors

There is a lot more to cutting than simply opening and closing your scissors. Suture scissors are meant to be used in the right hand where the pressure applied to the handle tightens the gap between the blades ensuring a successful cut.

No instrument is perfect, but I will say a brand-new pair of surgical scissors will have less of an issue than some that have been used a fair bit.

If you use them in you left hand (holding them normally) your left thumb pushes the opposite direction making the gap bigger.
