Actually it was NPD who had the data breach, not the Social Security Office. If you want to file a CAL then it would need to get against NPD.

Do not do it on your cellphone. You never know who is watching your keystrokes, listening in on your phone calls. Some can even hear your conversations even if you're not on your phone.

You forgot the first and most important thing to tell folks. Lock your actual social security number. Keep in mind when you do that it will prevent people from applying for a job and applying for government benefits. You can always unlock it as needed when you go to apply for a job or apply for benefits. This is something most KZbinrs forgot to mention. I had to dig deep into research to find it for folks and put it out on my most recent security video. You also want to contact the IRS and fill out Form 14039 which is an Identity Theft Affidavit. You will need to also get your PIN from the IRS every year to file taxes as it will change every year.

Didn't the credit freeze companies get hacked also? In my opinion, they already have it all. Wait and try to get that freeze released and you give them more information after a good runaround. I have a book of passwords in code should my book get stolen. I don't trust the cloud either. I can't say enough, when for what reason they fail to work also😮
