Is it possible to use azalea fertilizer as a general fertilizer? I have 2 containers and will never use it all, so want to use one of them for general use on plants.

I have several azaleas. The south eastern one has been getting some leaf curl on it lately. It opens back up at night. It's an old established bush that's been around for years. It's not an encore azalea. What can help with the curling? It seems to be well watered. It's in a garden circle with dwarf quince and a red encore azalea. 🌾🌿🍀🐀🐾

I have a Azalea that is really leggy, I had very few blooms. I didn't even know you were supposed to prune it until I looked for information on legginess. What do you suggest I do now? Thanks

Get the pruners out cut any dead diseased and dying off now, then cut half of the leggy branches off but leave 2 inches at the bottom, give it some fertilizer in February. Next year do the same cut the rest off. you have to prune just after flowering to encourage new flowering buds to form. Get inside the plant and get all the dead out it causes disease. The best fertilizer for potted Azaleas is liquid tomato feed around the base of the plant.
