I've only recently got into growing citruses and when you were talking about how jealous we should be because of the smell I remembered the really pleasant whiff I got when I opened the box with the plants from you guys :) 7:20 are citrus leaves really used in food? Well, it makes sense since the fruits go well with fish and meat, but I don't think I've seen recipes that include them, do you personally use them in cooking?
@agrumilenzi2148 Жыл бұрын
Hi! welcome to the Citrus family then! :) Yes, there's a lot of recipes that include Citrus leaves. You can take a look at "kaffir lime" leaves, they are the icon of using leaves in the kitchen. I personally also use the lemon ones, to make roasted meat, fish or vegetables, and they are just delicious!

Yes they are used, the most common one is the Kafir lime which is bred for its leafs, but Yuzu leafs often are used in japanese dishes! I guess tons of citrus are possible to cooked with leaf wise. I have Keraji mandarins and their leafs are so fragrant I really have to try it out one day.

Hi pietro, i bought a Kafir lime from you two years ago and it is growing very well and also a mayer lemon. The grafts are excellent and you can hardly see the junction between the two plants. If i take a cutting from the kafir lime will it grow and will it still be suitable for the Italian climate? By the way, congratulations on your English language and your accent which is almost non existent.

hi Matthew, thank you so much, i really appreciate it! :) You can try to reproduce Kaffir from cuttings, but its roots production is not great, so it would be better if you graft it!

Hello, I'm glad I found your explanations on pruning. I've been hesitant so far but it's time to give it a try now due to your encouragement :) I possess a variety of citrus plants because I love both the plants and the fruits. Maybe you mentioned it in the video and I didn't catch it, so I dare to ask: when is the best time to prune? My plants are flowering vigorously right now. Would you recommend pruning while the trees and bushes are in full bloom? And when to apply fertilizer? I suppose now would be a good time? My Italian is almost non-existant - so thank you for the vids in English! Your English is excellent, btw.

Hello Michaela, thank you for writing us, and thank you for your beautiful words! Actually you can prune from March to September according to what you'd like to do. In March we use to give the plant a shape, then in the summer we usually prune big branches in order to keep plants well ventilate. Regarding the fertilizer, it depends on the composition (if it's liquid also once a week, or grainy , once a month about, from March to October about)

Do you ever get Femminello Sfusato in stock? I am desperately looking for this plant heck I would settle for cuttings! :) I live in CA. so citrus grows amazingly well here. If you do not carry do you know who does? Everyone here on the West Coast is looking for this plant. :D

Salve, le piante di limone che voi vendete ( innestate basse, come quelle nell’immagine di copertina di questo video) hanno le stesse capacità di crescita e poi produzione di quelle innestate alte ad “alberello”? Grazie in anticipo.

@@matteorossi7511 Salve, alberello o cespuglio non cambia moltissimo, diciamo che è solo un discorso estetico, perchè fondamentalmente le caratteristiche rimangono le stesse!

Hi, could you tell me 3 early ripening lemon varieties like in october/november besides Lipo? Thanks
@agrumilenzi21483 жыл бұрын
Good morning, we have different lemon varieties, and i have to be honest, there aren't early varieties. Actually most of them are 4 season in flowering, so they can produce flowers many times per year

@agrumilenzi21483 жыл бұрын
salve, di solito basta tenere un po' la forma sferica, oppure aprirlo un pochino all' interno per iniziare a dare la forma desiderata.
