Great way to increase aubergine fruits (Brinjal) on your eggplants, by pruning the the side shoots, known as the sucker. In this video we will show you how to identify the sucker and remove them to get high yield.

Excellent video again guys. Very informative. I didn’t know they grew suckers and were of the same family of tomato 😂 I thought I’d keep them but not now. I pollinate mine with an electric toothbrush. Do you think you can grow on the suckers like you can grow on tomato suckers as separate plants ? Have you ever tried it. I think I’ll give it a go. A side shoot is known as a sucker, if you don't remove it becomes a stem. Thank you for your comment

Wow - Crystal clear explanation of this pruning. Took us thru your thought process so well. Gardening and specifically pruning is an art and has to be learnt. i have subscribed. Without pruning also I get plenty eggplants. But I get frustrated with the over bushy looks. So I will do better this year. BTW - I obsolutely use your share on soaking seeds in epsom salt.

Have Have been battling spider mites destroying my eggplants, and read that I have the plants to dense with leaves, lack of air movement throughout, etc. I found this video super helpful in terms of best practices for trimming and pruning. If you have a good fertile vegetable patch with 8 hours of sun, it will do better in the ground.

@@AliRajaBagan That makes sense ! I am growing them in 7 Gallon containers and it is giving very good result... Have couple of them in raised bed; however they have ~6 hrs of sun... I think thats why they are not producing as good as the one in container..
