Thanks. I learned a couple of new things. Another KZbin gardener says to never compost tomato plants or any nightshades or cucurbits because they are prone to harbor disease and bugs laying eggs in the leaves.

I’m growing italian ,San Marzono tomatoes this year. I grow all my tomatoes in five gallon buckets and pretty much prune them like you did. I also use tomato cages with a a tall stake in the middle.

@@DevinTheGardener One plant per bucket. They grow beautifully. I alternate organic fertilizer and fish emulsion.
