Not for nothing, but this has been going on for a decade or more. People use to ask me to check those silver sticker #s quite a bit back in 2012 and on. Then when I open the box, they would always get a big hit or case hit. That seemed so unfair to me. So at that point I stopped showing sticker #s and made it where people had to roll the dice or pick a number. Also in other products the code # inside the box would tell if you got the case hit. The 8 string # would change for the case hit, but that was in the inside the wrapped box. But once I figured out people could find sequences, I refused to show those sliver sticker #s and made people pick a #. For many years, I would write in sharpie # 1 to 12 on the boxes once the case was opened. Then they had to pick #s or roll the dice. I did this so the people that were following the case, would know I wasn't switching out boxes, etc. I use to draw faces on the Flawless boxes, so people would know that was the leftover box. I would do anything to show that I wasn't switching any boxes out of a case. But I wouldn't show the identifying silver sticker #s to identify them.

I love Crown Royale and I love collecting the Silhouettes with the Prime patches in the background. I only buy into breaks if I can pick my team and there was one WhatNot breaker that ran PYT’s. For a good while when the product was new, he would run four breaks a night with each break having 1/4 of a fresh case. I watched these breaks off and on for a few weeks. Anyway, all 10/10 cases that I saw him break the Kaboom would always be found in the final 1/4 of the case. This would drive up the demand for each subsequent break and allow the breaker to get more money for each spot since it was always “Kaboom is live”. Up until the final 1/4 case, which would then be the “Guaranteed Kaboom” break and prices would go way up. I always knew it was fishy, but I figured that the Kaboom box was always in the same position within the case (like 3rd from the bottom on the right for example). Well now I guess that it was even easier than that and for sure these breakers knew the con.

There was a sale of FOTL Crown Royale back in September that had the Kaboom code (which is not very hard to figure out), sold for $1200, all of the ones listed on Ebay now do not have the code. I always suspected the buying orphan boxes on Ebay was a losing endeavor. I think it's with every product across the board. Think about it. The manufacturers have to do accounting. They know where every 1/1 kabooms etc. Like the 86/87 fleer basketball sequences or 83 donruss baseball. Finding Jordans and Gwynn rookies were pretty easy back then. Now it's a larger scale. People are getting crafty. Especially the breakers. The breakers open most of this stuff. It isn't hard to find kabooms or superfractors 1/1s if there's a sequence. Especially cases. finding the case hit. If I buy a product, It's a case of them. Don't want anyone tampering with my cards. Do I think breakers knew about this earlier? Shit yeah!! It's a business. Either it's a sequence of #s on a box or player patterns.

In the 80s and 90s I took every good hit out of every store in the city. Rack packs had packing orders so you just needed to know what the back cards were or use your nail to seperate them. Similar thing happened last year with 2021 Certified Football but not necessarily with numbers on the front. I noticed after pulling a Fields and Lance RPA out of separate boxes and cases that both contained the “Case Hit” insert card. I thought it may have been a coincidence, so I decided to do some research. I watched tens of case breaks, and sure enough in every case the box that contained the “Case Hit” Insert card had one of the top 5 QB(T Law, Fields, Mac, Lance, and Wilson) RPA in it. Which comes to the concern of mine. The “Case Hit” insert card was thicker stock card than standard base(80pt vs 20pt) which of course weighs more. Don't blame consumers for wanting to get the best cards they can get with their hard earned money....blame panini for either being really careless or being really shady
@redred2222 жыл бұрын
this has been going on at other companies and since the early 1990s i think its a practice that card manufactures use and people have figured it out guess the card companies dont really care there getting paid anyhow

I have been saying this since the 2013-2014 year..... I used to break all the time and certain guys would ask me to snap a screenshot of the silver serial number on the box I knew that something was up with that. Been saying that for years now.

Longtime busters know this! Why would manufacturers have serial numbers in the first place if it wasn’t to track stuff?! That’s why you had to send the box top with serial numbers I believe when you made a claim that you didn’t get what was promised in a box.

Im sure it is part of the Quality Control / sequencing to make sure they are put in there, and they think no one would catch on. Look at the Hockey series 2 this year with security tags, young guns in every pack and bowman baseball with the security tag....

I’ve tried testing this theory out before (it’s made it’s rounds) with Topps product. I tried with Mega boxes because I didn’t want to spend thousands on cases. It was interesting but nothing I could say for sure without a bigger sample size. Topps Chrome Update was the product. Regardless, this really sucks but not unexpected to finally be confirmed on the big stage.

This is crazy that this video popped up. I was watching a break last night and the breaker accidentally asked what time are these two guys coming in that were in the comments. That made my eyebrows go up because these two guys were pushing the bids high and stopping at a certain number or close to it. I figured “nah that's their limit”. After moving on and waiting watching these two guys started to ask for personals but they were very specific about boxes and opening cases going through the boxes. Every box had at least a case hit and all the screaming “You can’t miss! You’re on fire” was so annoying I didn’t pay much attention to what they were saying anymore because I turned the volume down. I thought wow they are lucky but now after watching your video, I'm reconsidering that thought. I don’t think they know or knew what’s in each box but I get the feeling they knew which boxes had greater opportunities. They were just too specific without any reservations at all!🤔🤨🧐 It could have been just amazing luck but my gut feeling tells me otherwise.

I’d love to see someone look into backyard breaks hits and see how many of their hits have the code sequence in them
@ingresswizard90442 жыл бұрын
My guess is there are combos on all Panini boxes where the numbers correspond to what is in the box. I would say that codes exist for Select, NT, Crown, Prizim. Wonder if there is a code for downtowns on One and One basketball??
@danielhicks16822 жыл бұрын
I’ve been saying this for 2 years. I stopped joining mixers immediately. Game over for all the scam group breakers who keep the good boxes for themselves. You can find galactics, mosaic genesis, and prizm blacks for sure with these. I pulled 2 Luka Doncic Genesis from hangers and the code was identical.

I think this will work itself out. Its not completely different from back in the day when people knew where cards were by the sequence (a la Jordan Fleer RC etc) or pack/box location in the case. Another similar more recent example is pack fondling/molesting by those creepy 40 year old dudes that you'd see at Target with the scale their mom uses to weigh their meals weighing all the packs. Or they damage all the cards trying to get a peek at the card #s through the translucent wrapper. Bottom line - Breakers who have transparency and continue to pull case hits for their customers will be fine. Shady breakers who never pull anything or only seem to pull stuff in "personals" for a select few "customers" won't.

The popular method in other products is to look on the inside of the flap of a box. I remember Revolution and Prizm ( i think) basketball products inside flap boxes could tell what type of autograph subject you would get.

So, someone can open a case and take out specific nba stickers that held the kaboom card and replace it with another same year and product box... even if the case was opened live the boxes are always off camera and someone can be searching and swapping. I would not break with anyone or even buy boxes from anywhere.
@joescardsandtoys51572 жыл бұрын
Do packs/boxes even say "cards/inserts are randomly inserted" anymore?
@BeatRootius2 жыл бұрын
It's so dumb and simple it makes sense. My suspicion all along it was Panini being lazy, they have ruined the hobby through their money grabby laziness. Of course they used sequential rolls of licensee stickers and added no randomness to the process at source, you bet this dumb method was how they did it with all the 1of1's and major cards too. It's worth pointing out that this sticker is from the NBA and is used to show it's an officially licensed product, I imagine these are min a 1000 sticker roll so as such you can know from at least a 1000 cases in which a specific hit is placed in. So if a person can get the serial number sequence from a hit you know the roll it came from, so again hypothetically the person who packs the cards just needs to know the sequence and boom you have the hits

not as cool, but I remember the topps walmart factory set with the full parallel sets were easy to spot (full parallel vs base sets) based on the serial number in the MLB logo. I think I went like 12 for 12 guessing them. Unfortunately they don't really carry a huge premium on them unlike finding a kaboom

Do not enter any breaks unless the case is opened on camera. I watched breaks on KZbin and kept a spreadsheet for 6 months. It runs across all products. Look at what eBay sellers sell sealed boxes with no reserve constantly and you can tell who is cherry picking.

In 2022 they can come up with a procedure to load the packs, and then cases automatically without human intervention? You would think this could be automated in the packing process regardless of a box serial numbers etc.. -- Anyway, great stuff as usual. Hopefully this finally opens some eyes, and gets a response from Panini.
@jbjb-li2wx2 жыл бұрын
Going back to the early 2000s, Upper Deck sets used to have an auto jersey as a case hit. There were 12 boxes in the case, 11 of the boxes serial numbers would be in sequential order and one of the boxes would be something different - that box had the case hit jersey auto. So for example the box numbers would be something like 456232501 to 456232511 and then there would be something like 102354743.
