Best breakdown of fundamental pumping technique on youtube.

at 2:08, this is what I was doing thinking I was pumping, but in reality, I was just taking the wind out of my sails and stopping like a flat soda. Thanks for this awesome video. I love your teaching technique and how you took the fundamentals of moto riding and incorporated it into skating.

@SkateParkLessons Appreciate the video JB! Have you got any tips on how to keep balanced and which foot I should be focusing on when pumpig when going forward in my Goofy stance down the ramp? I'm comfortable going up and rolling down fakie and yesterday I had a fall when the board slipped out when I almost reached the top of the coping with my back wheels (left foot) and rolling down again. Thanks in advance, love your work! ❤️
@SkateparkLessons9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. Pump pressure should be equal on both feet when pumping, the important thing is to keep your head in between your feet when learning and focus on learning to match the rhythm of the ramp. It’s like dancing to what you feel instead of hear. Like a swing set. I hope this helps you even more. Please consider supporting the channel by becoming a member. Enjoy the ride 💙🛹💙

I just finished building a tiny miniramp for a kid today but found it a little challenging to pump on it because the flat was short and the tyranny was really mellow. On the flip side, it was super easy to do a bunch of tricks on the coping. I did that tail stall to rock n roll drill a bunch but kept losing momentum because the pump felt weird
@SkateparkLessons3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the ramp isn’t steep or tall enough, either way I hope the kid skates more using it! Small ramps are typically just stepping stones for kids. Thanks for your support. Please help me Share this channel with your friends online or with anyone who needs help skateboarding 💙🛹💙

Awesome tutorials JB! This may be a dumb question, but when you press down on the pump, do you mean press down with both feet with the force going down toward the board and the trucks OR, press down as in press forward the direction the skateboard is heading? Thanks!
@SkateparkLessons3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ed, press down as if you were standing on soda cans and trying to crush them with both feet at the same time. 💙🛹💙

@@SkateparkLessons Thanks, figured out how to pump back and forth now! Question : when/where to pump when you're carving on the side of a bowl (like parallel to the coping)?

Hi, I accidentally discovered your channel and am so glad that I have done so! Fantastic video tutorials. Your tips on pumping have really helped me improve. One question which I have is do you have any advice (or videos with those tips in) on how to get over the coping? I am trying to get my front trucks over the coping so as to do a rock, but just cannot get it right. Any advice is appreciated.

Is pumping different on a 6-7 ft that transition out to a tiny vert? On the top of the half pipe, near there coping, do I stand tall, or should I keep my knees bent? I'm having a tough time getting to the coping on a half pipe, but I'm okay on a 4 ft mini ramp with a 6 ft radius.
@SkateparkLessons Жыл бұрын
It’s all the same but you change the time of how long you pump for bigger transitions. It’s the same “dance” just faster or slower 💙🛹💙

Is there anyway for us to ask more specific questions in regards to technique. Perhaps a fee for joining? It would work both ways whereby you can address questions that beginners would pose cause once your good it's just a matter of practice cause all the fundamentals are down.

Watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXO9k6l_ftdgjK8 Your balance is probably a bit too far forward. You gotta be balanced between your feet and then pop your back foot straight down with the toes of your back foot.
