@kutitkustomz25842 жыл бұрын
The frame work is a little excessive for big wheels. They way the frame work was performed was like if it was intended for a drag radial with a giant sidewall. Because the wheel and tire package only measures about 5 to 7 inches from the outer most part of the tire to just inside of the inner wheel lips, it is not completely necessary to relocate so much of the original frame, which would have saved on cost, time, and material, making the job more cost effective for not just you but the customer as well. Great job tho. Work on ur stance and ur cuts... check out some of my gbody videos u will see what I mean.
@KingJT802 жыл бұрын
you cant fit a 10 inch wide rim on there without a notch. and it has to be done the correct way or you'll be denting 1/4 panels it donest matter which gbody it is. it'll look funny as hell

Id at least took a pressure hose and got up under there and treated that rust with some rustoleum or somethin. Check the differential oil and and maybe work on the engine BEFORE throwing wheels on there. Gotta work on these old cars from the inside out not the outside in. @@lawlessstreetcars476 I have 42 years in this field cutting a chassis without a frame jig and on a lift can twist the frame. I know people do this all the time it does not make it right. I would love to see a before and after 4 wheel alignment readings just to see how much the chassis moves after welding it. I am willing to bet the Rear-end tracking has been altered.
@lawlessstreetcars4762 жыл бұрын
G body frames are not that square to begin with I have a chasis table but we never totally cut them All the way through just the outer plate . I do agree if he was doing a 4sec drag car it needs to be on a jig but not for this
@apacheone36432 жыл бұрын
@@lawlessstreetcars476 I disagree As I work on cars and trucks and a lot of people do this wrong First the chassis needs to be in a chassis frame, work location then cut and then needs to be pre heated to a min of 400 degrees this prevents warping the metal as you experience doing the left side . I understand that you are making a series of tacks all around the chassis to prevent warping but if you heat a area a little to much while the rest of the chassis is cold you cause the metal to buckle. Lastly what was taken away needs to be replaced either by reinforcements or gusset and sistering the work area with additional materials.you remove material and added no reinforcements which weaking the area all it would take now is a heavy load inthe trunk and city potholes to start cracking. Just food for thought. As I said I have 42 years under my belt in the Automotive/Diesel industry Including racing I own a 84 GRAND.PRIX and have built many race cars including chassis repairs on Emergency vehicles to tractor trailers.
@haroldvaughn12002 жыл бұрын
This car looks really nice and he is chopping it up for big wheels? Like wtf. Why not just get a lift kit? Also these GBody frames are already weak and flexible so he cut out most of the rear frame and made it even thinner. So it's never gonna handle any real horsepower or torque. They basically ruined the value of the whole car for big rims. 🤯🤔 Idk but I just don't get it.
@lawlessstreetcars4762 жыл бұрын
I agree it’s not for everyone but at the end of they day if they want us to fit them we do . We mainly build race cars so we’re no strangers to cutting some stuff up . Whatever they desire to use the car for we’re game

First of all those rims are not BIG... next is nobody buys lift kits anymore, besides do u really think someone that paid over 4k for some wheels care about 2 $60 fenders and a base clear paint job. He obviously has more money in his engine and wheels than the value of this particular car anyway. If he lifted up 7" to clear those rims u would have been complaining about that on here.
