thanks, man! heard about this "choke chain" from a buddy of mine and thought I'd give it a shot. I have to say other's out there talking about a "P" and "Q" application but having the "live ring" on top is much easier to remember. Maybe I'm dyslexic or something, i don't know.

The most humane and safest option for walking a dog who tends to want to pull is a front-leash attachment harness, such as the Sense-ation. When dogs lunge or pull while wearing the Sense-ation harness, the front leash attachment redirects them back toward the dogwalker. The trick is to train the dog so as soon as they hear or feel it tightening they slow down and don't pull. There's never any need to actually "choke" them if you do it right

Question, while walking with leash the clip itself is tightening collar pulling chain down (not tight but as far as gravity etc allows for it) am I doing something wrong? Should dead and alive rings be posterior aspect of neck but if so how do I prevent from slipping down or is idea you should have short leash and maintain that positioning?

you are wanting that corrective action, it shouldn't remain tight while in use. It may be possible you want a smaller size collar if its slipping out of position on the neck.

If the choke chair will not slip over her head we recommend going to your local vet to make sure that the collar is removed safely. A properly fit choke chain should be 2 inches larger than the largest part of the head so that this doesn't happen. We're happy you're helping out a stray!
