There are different ways to put something extra on your assist hooks - this is just one of those ways, it does increase flash and vibration on your slow jigs, however, I don't think there is conclusive evidence that this increases strikes.

This adding a spinner is what are on Jigpara lures that are good for when fish refuse to bite anything else. It works! I even made plastic willows with reflective tape and works as well.

I've been doing this since before they introduced it (major craft), the very first time I saw this in Japan (and this captain I'm talking about is the very first to do it, I was told) I copied it and have used it fairly regularly and honestly haven't really seen results that were mind blowing...it catches fish for sure, but I am not really convinced that it works better. :| I hope people that follow this idea get better results than I have. fingers crossed.

Very nice concept, interesting for sure. Only ever seen it on normal rear treble lures, but this is cool and a little funky and very clean. I paint jigheads with nail polish and glitter to make them more interesting than a lead weight 😂. I am not afraid to say i have a very nice nail polish collection. Including glow in the dark and glitter ones. I find its better to coat with nail polish then sprinkle with glitter l, rather than using glitter nail polish.

I been making assist hooks for a while now and I notice one thing you don't do but should is get a flat pair (no teeth) pliers and squeeze top and side of thread area DOWN the thread then glue. It will be flatter more even. 😊

You may say the thread winding is tight already but try it. No matter how hard you wind it will never be as flat with pliers.

I used to do this, I believe I even showed it in one of the older videos. This was also the time when I didn't glue until the very end. Nowadays, for most of what I do, I put glue on, so I don't do this step anymore. But yes, it slims the profile down for sure.

Your choice, but coating with UV makes the coat brittle because UV resin does not stop curing...so take note of that.

Hey kit! Quick question, on the type of glue that you use to bind your assist cord to the hooks. What's that glue? Any super glue will do?

I use really cheap super glue. I find the cheaper they are the better - they are really thin and penetrate better.
