Thank you for this video. I have a heavy-duty harness for a very strong, but very sweet and gentle natured 85 pound German Shepherd that pulls like a freight train, but the harness has only 1 hook on the back side and it's located where the front hook is on your dog's harness. I noticed the harness you are using has 2 hooks on the back side. As far as pulling goes, is it better to hook the leash to the front hook or rear hook on the back side of the harness, or does it matter?

This is my first time watching ur videos cause we just got a German shepherd on Valentine's day. We had to put our family dog down 2 weeks before and his name was Titan. We had him for 15 yrs, he had some problems due too his age. Any how, we have a different harness I got from PetSmart. The guy picked it out and also put it on. I'm noticing under his front legs, like his arm pits he has hair loss and when u touch it he licks ur hand. I'm guessing it's on wrong but I can't walk him with out it cause he will pull me down. I'm disabled and I'm trying to get him to not pull. That's not working too well. Need to get him trained. I have tried to walk with a reg collar, but he does alittle dance and takes it off and runs off. Trying to catch him is not fun. He will be 1 on April 1st...

Why do you think sled dogs are on a harness? I hate it when people put a harness on a dog. It's OK for some small dogs and for dogs who are really well behaved and trained. No big deal putting a harness on a service dog. A harness is for teaching a dog to pu or to instill more prey drive in the dog by frustrating him if the dog was bred to become a police dog for example.

I'm worried the harness is too loose on the back.. it sits up away from the body occasionally sort of slightly twists. Is it too loose or os the front chest area too tight? Cattle Dog has lots of neck chest skin so it bulges out also 🤷‍♀️

The harness can be adjusted from multiple points to fit your specific breed. Should it not fit to your liking, you have 30 days to return it.

I have a top paw (PetSmart brand) ultra reflective comfort harness. I have a 64lbs English bulldog it has the front and back d-ring should I use the front ring for pulling? He pulls me wherever he wants to go lol that’s what made me want to get a harness he would pull so hard in his collar he would make himself throw up

@@chesiresays not everyone knows that bc it makes it confusing unless you ask or watch full video. Bc I didn’t know myself til I just watched this. So no need to say it the way you did. As some are new to pullers like my 8 mth old who has taken me for not just a walk. But some horrible falls after major spinal surgery and injured myself badly and I’m disabled and not as strong anymore due to my physical disabilities. So “obviously” the question was asked bc he said any questions to comment. Smh 🤦🏼‍♀️ be kind to others

The dog sweats under that harness even though its mesh, because the dog’s fur is compressed so their skin can’t breathe. The best heavy duty harness is a military grade strap harness. Icefang has one. I bought one. Yes, it’s the best one I’ve found. They call it a tactical strap harness. The front and rear buckles are metal and not plastic like all the others. This harness will last you forever.

Dogs don't sweat. However airflow to their skin does help make them feel cooler. Mesh allows for 100% more airflow than solid materials. But yes, a simple strap offers the least amount of coverage. Won't work for everyone. But if it works for you and your dog, that's great!

Every harness I use causes friction sores near armpit. I have tactical ones too. Not sure what I am doing wrong? It seems to fit right but was hoping to get more info about how it should fit around girth and neck. Any suggestions?

Many times this is caused by the harness shifting because it is too loose. May need to size down and tighten up a bit.

@@221btactical much appreciated thanks. They are refunding my money and i think i want to go with a longer harness if that makes sense. I think they call it full body harness. He is only 2 but built like a tractor even with the harness he can still catch me not paying attention. I just wanna go for a nice walk not a pull down the sidewalk. He had no manners when i got him but now if i say sit he does first ask. He has challenged me twice i put him on his back so fast he had no clue what happened. No i did not hurt him but he is a husky mix mother was 100% husky the father had lab and mastiff from what i was told. I do not believe the mastiff part but who knows. Everyone has given up on him and i refuse to. My wife stops breathing at night and last night he went in and woke her up after whining and running back and forth to the door so i know he will protect us I love him even more after that. I think there is a problem with the adjusters there are teeth in them but they refuse to hold

My pit/German Shepard mix dad full pit mom half pit half shepherd. His mom is 90lbs. He is only 8 mths old and took me for a walk then dragged bc I fell hard on the concrete. Got road rash from the sidewalk elbow knees ankle but fell on my back and right si joint area which is the big surgery I just had done in April. Which made things difficult anyways. My husband has been walking him. I’ve had to keep him up in the crate during the day bc I can’t walk him and fall again. He’s probably about 50lbs or more already and STRONG! Even my husband gets pulled by him but he is much stronger. A friend got us a no pull harness. But he destroyed it in less than 10 mins and chewed it off of him smh 🤦🏼‍♀️ So definitely can’t leave a harness on him for even 10 mins. Have you found this company’s harnesses helping you with your dog pulling? I have no way to measure him bc I don’t have a fabric measuring tape. I don’t know if I can use a regular measuring tape that you’d use to see how long a dresser is etc. so I don’t know the accuracy of a regular tape measure. But would love to hear your feedback since you have had yours a few mths now and how your pup is doing? Thank you for not giving up on him. I lost my old girl last Nov after 15 yrs. She wasn’t a pulled and only 45 lbs and back when she was a pup I wasn’t physically disabled or weak like I am now. I want to be able to walk him and play with him. He is my emotional support animal after all. I hate I have to wait for husband to get home from work to let him out. Dr order no more walking dog. So I don’t further hurt myself. After 13 yrs of being misdiagnosed and the last 2 falls a week apart falling on my bad side surgery side SI Joint fusion. I can’t afford a lot due to extremely tight low income. Thankfully my MIL gets him plenty of toys bc he is also an aggressive chewer so we have to keep toys or he will just chew shoes and furniture. And he can take out a kong toy for aggressive chewers in 10 mins or less. With maybe 2 that last almost a week. Thank goodness for PetRx website bc they are about 50% or more cheaper than any other pet store and sell Kong. I also get Bark Box for aggressive chewers. I just can’t afford to keep buying harnesses. He is a smart boy I had him potty trained at 4-5 mths bc I was adamant he would be potty trained before my surgery. Rescued him at 10 wks from a very bad situation. Sorry for the long novel. Just desperate for help and real ppl that have used these with their dogs. Also are they able to adjust enough it will grow with him. Like if I get a large bc he is still growing. If it will tighten down to a medium and then as he grows more adjust until fully grown. I know I won’t need an xl. As that was way too big. Also what’s the bungee cord and Velcro type on top of harness for?? Hopefully the original commenter can help me out. I won’t retype my long novel. But its my reply back to Brian asking him some questions. But you all are the experts and I can’t afford to fall again literally due to being physically disabled and recovering from my 12 spinal surgery. I truly would appreciate any and all info. Mind you he is an 8 mth old you’d think he was stronger than a mastiff 🤦🏼‍♀️ but I can’t afford to fall again and destroy the last surgery I just had bc harness training collar is a joke and doesn’t faze him at all.
